I hate to break it to you each of those six goals probably cost us millions in wages since he did very little/was injured for a majority of his four seasons at the club. But we can spin it all ways you do need a mix of potential and experience in a squad.

I think people sometimes get obsessed with the idea of players turning into superstars but they don't need to. What I want to see is more signings like Godfrey; just players who have the skillset and ability to come into the side and perform at a good level, with the potential to get even better. I have no issue with picking up one or two experienced pros to bulk up the squad, but we have to be careful that we get the balance right. We aren't exactly light on experience, and i'd be wary of adding too many more players who have no long term value (whether financial or performance wise) to the club.

I love this approach but we are brutal at it, so im left with wondering are we wasting time and resources at it because we are failing at it. Or just plod along with the Alans of this world/ Something needs to change in my opinion, we have failed with the likes of Lookman, Kean and Vlasic, when we shouldn't have in my opinion.

I know people will go down the unhappy, homesick root etc - im not interested in that argument again, its subjective. Im interested in why do we seem to contiguously fail with this profile of player at that stage of development. Arguably you can throw Dowell and Gordon in there as well.

We didnt develop them and that's my point. we're great on theory but woeful on application. 3 excellent talents we cut adrift that has made us worse and weaker.

Also in terms of value Via what outlay on players as replacements and is that good player trading in terms of 1) benefiting us and 2) improving us?

Lookman to Iwobi.
Vlasic to Bernard, Rodriguiz - wages are astronomical and both likely to be sold in the summer.
Kean to King - what the hell was the point.

Horrible value & player trading we cant give their replacements away - seriously they will all likely go on frees, with the exception of Rodriguez who is special, but we both know you get maybe 20 games if your lucky and hes off now anyway.

Woeful in developing players and woeful on replacing them.

Like i say its all fine in theory, but he club is awful in application on this profile of young player.

Watched him a lot at Levante and he was decent,just a mixture of time and bad luck. But let's be honest PSG would never have given him a second glance.
