He is 31 we shouldn't be giving him a long term deal just as a back up.If it's just a one year short term deal and we can't find anyone else fine. But I would rather we targetted a younger forward because we need to be building.

Cant imagine both of them leaving, I think James is surely gone while Siggy will stay.

Our biggest priority is out-wide, specifically the entire right flank. We can more than rely on Sig to create, after all he had 18 G/A vs DCL's 22 G/A despite mostly playing LW/CM/CDM
Even wasted for 1/3rd of the season as a substitute and still put up those numbers.

Sig is fine as a squad player because he is useful with assists and set pieces and the odd goal, he shouldn't be starting most games though as he doesn't create much in open play. If James is off we need a more mobile creative presence. No idea who

Squad player is just silly, he is our best player by a mile.

What makes you think it'd be a long term deal? James Rodriguez and Allan signed for us on a 2 year deals as 29 year olds. I'd bet my house on it being a maximum of 2 years.

He's an older player that will be happy to be a back up for the younger players like Giroud at Chelsea. You sign youngsters to start not be a back up otherwise you end up with an unhappy kid that doesn't develop a la Moise Kean. They're not going to sign Rondon and go well that's that then no need to sign anyone else.

Some signings don't need to start they just need to provide cover, like an Olsen/Romero
 

Everyone bemoans Evertons lack of imagination with signings and hirings and then collectively can only come up with one winger in the entire world to sign in Leon Bailey ahhahaha a player we've not once been solidly linked with at that

We aren't even linked with Rondon at this stage it's just people putting two and two together. Second sure experience can have its uses espcially off the bench look at Giroud at Chelsea, but personally I prefer bringing in potential we can sell on or can develop into a first team player. Even Kean who hasn't worked out we will get a good chunk for him. Whereas you look at a Kone he was an experienced option who cost us millions for very little so it's not guaranteed with "experience".

Shares set pieces with Digne & James, had 7x more open play assists than James vs PL teams.
Literally sets up his own penalties with open play passes as per the video you're replying to.

I'm not a scout I was just going with three realistic names and we have been linked with him for two years. It's probably not realistic now though as he has put up good numbers in a strong league for two years. Who would you suggest?
