I agree but it's a lot of money. Ultimately it's not my money he's spending so what do I care. I just hope it doesn't mean we have to compromise in other positions.

Like you I agree it is a big amount of money, but in my eyes it is one of the main positions we need to strengthen. No top teams have average goalkeepers, only great ones. Hart is a great keeper.
Most of the squad are being "moved on". If the rumours are right we could have a completely different Everton team next season.
However a net 100m won't pay for that. The same way as we would never pay 40m for Hart out of a 100m budget.

Whose to say our potential new manager hasn't already identified hart as a key signing. Being lazy you would think that points to pelligrini having worked with him at city. However like you I can't see Everton expressing interest in a player, unless an incoming manager has approved it.

Rumours of wholesale changes are probably true, but we are unlikely to lose anybody we would miss and those we will miss, we will be given vast sums to replace.
Martinez made some astute signings, but he also signed some utter stinkers, some of which will continue to litter the squad next season unless we can ship them out.
Im pretty sure the new manager will be given the cash to move us forward, im pretty sure there isnt a set amount set in stone, just like im pretty sure we are unlikely to spend 40m on a GK.
I will be very surprised if we break our transfer record this season, but I fully expect us to spend upwards of 100m, thats if we lose Lukaku and Stones, as I say, if those 2 go for the sums rumoured it will be some summer.
