If needed we should spend big on the keeper. Even if it's 20 million plus. They pay for themselves in points and if we buy someone at the right age we could get the best part of ten years service.
Would be stupid to buy Butland, Forster, VVD or anybody that has signed a long term contract in the last few months, utterly stupid, everybody thinks we are City minted, we arent even close to being able to pay unreal premiums.

Exactly . Spend it wisely . This new era shouldn't be rushed . We've been bang average and worse for 30 years . I'm quite happy to start from scratch ( to an extent) and build a proper boss side worthy of winning trophies for years to come . That will take time no matter how much you spend.
A touch of realism is required, not sure it will be applied tho.

Saints fan here, Forster has just signed a 5 year deal with Southampton and Van Dijk for 6 years, literally the pair signed bumper contracts weeks ago. They will be going nowhere. I know were a selling club but we only sell when its right for the club, no way we'd sell them now.
Our ITK's say Wanyama will leave us this summer though, he only has 1 year left on his contract and he's been angling for a move for 2 seasons. I'd be surprised if he went with you though as Koeman and him have fallen out for periods of time, it's not beyond the realms of possibility though as don't think hes good enough for established champions league clubs even though he does. He wants Tottenham but not sure he'll get them.
ITK's also say Pelle, Tadic and Mane all want to leave this summer but I suspect only Pelle will be allowed to go. Don't see why you would want him but Koeman loves him as Pelle is a big lad and Koeman loves a long ball, you will almost certainly be playing with a target man. Tadic and Mane we will listen to offers for but will only go for silly money, not saying you couldn't pay it but not sure why you'd want to as they are hit and miss.

Depay has great potential and wud suit koeman more than LVG, as koemans plays it wide on occasion
McCarthy was just put in as a young CM we have, I too don't think McCarthy is the answer and wudnt be surprised if Koeman let him go.

we should realise the fact that Soton have an English international Left Back which is a position that could be added to with the recent decline in Baines (I understand, due to Martinez)

I suppose anything is possible in life but It's just not the way we do business. I can't stress how unlikely I find it, Leicester winning the league unlikely.
I'm sure you don't follow our transfer ins and outs but we tend to sell when suitors are offering way above market value. There's no way we'd let them go unless you offer to pay far more than they are worth and I don't see why you would want to do that as it wouldn't be in our interest to sell or your interest to buy.
I wasn't aware Fellaini he signed a contract just before he left, crazy how much Moyes wanted him!
