Everton Transfer Thread 2016

Simple - because it isn't anywhere near £30million that we are getting. We borrowed against the TV money in recent years, which now means it is simply being used to pay off that debt. Yes, we'll see a bit of a boost, of course - but it's not like we'll be getting a huge influx into the coffers from it. Most of the budget for this summer is going to come from Moshiri's investment and player sales.

The TV money simple allows us to pay off the debt and still have a large transfer budget.

I'm sorry, but even if your hypothesis about us continuing to spend TV monies in advance is true (as we did back in the old days when we really were living hand to mouth) that doesn't alter the fact that we have received an extra circa 90 million in the last three years as a result of the TV money, and that it is this money that has allowed us to have a significant transfer budget in recent years.

Even if we have already spent that money, and I'm not convinced that we have, then there is another load of cash coming our way from the forthcoming season's TV deal. This TV deal matches the previous TV deal, that DID see us receive an extra circa 30 million pound increase each season, and then provides even more money to clubs, circa 71% more.

The idea that this money is a negligible amount, or that it won't largely underpin Premier League transfer expenditure is not true. It is going to be the main driver that underpins the large sums of money that will be spent throughout the Premier League this summer, including at Everton.

Ok cheers. Exciting times ahead it would seem!
Yeah.

Not getting too carried away. £100m ain't wait it used to be (I reckon we'll see at least 8 clubs with a £100m+ net spend this year) and it's one thing have a list and signing the players.

Will definitely improve us though.

According to TransferMarkt, we have 5 first team players with contracts expiring: Howard, Hibbert, Pienaar, Osman and Gibson and 2 non first teamers with expiring contracts: Mattioni and Grant.

We have to also realise that the likes of Barry, Baines, Jagielka, Kone who are all aging and could be leaving. Jags til 2018, Barry til 2017, Baines til 2019, Kone til 2017.

This could result in at least 9 players leaving in the space of now till next summer.

I'd try to attract Mandanda on a free, possibly Martin Caceres from Juventus as his contracts up. Caceres can play all over defence

These can be quality signings , especially Mandanda but who both have notable experience in Europe, where we want to be

Overall, we are all unaware of Koemans interest on who he's buying but these are signings who could be attracted and would improve squad

When did you last see mandanda? Hes been dreadful for 1+ seasons, turned into Grobelaar.

Wolves' Kourtney Hause linked today; great young player - obviously not a starter just yet - but can play LB and CB (like Galloway but this guy is an absolute tank). Would take at the right price to bolster our younger squad players.

Ive heard that we were watcing him and also Iorfa for ages now....last i heard on that though was in the jan window i think when it was in the press ..

was told by a guy close to chelsea but would imagine our targets have changed since moshiri and also reeves the chief scout has gone.

I'd have Schneiderlein over Wanyama. I reckon Saints fans would too.

Have you seen much of schneiderlin? What do you think the reason is that UTD fans dont see him as a UTD player?

Also cant see wanyama joining as he was meant to have had a row with koeman in nov/dec (but perhaos all resolved now as they did well in 2nd half of season).

Wanyama for me doesnt have grest passing ability....

Would love Giroud if Lukaku leaves, strong in the air, holds the ball up well and scores 15-20 a season. Vardy going there might open up the door for him to leave, we would struggle to replace Rom with anyone much better.

I keep harping on about him but check out Vincent Janssen. Hes class and just now come into the dutch side as 1st choice.

Sterling is likely to devalue initially at least compared to the Euro - meaning clubs with the euro as currency would get better exchange rate. Meaning we could get more money for Stones from abroad - but would have to pay more for other European club players.

The FX traders i know all think we will stay in and have taken long term positions on GBP/EUR.

Last season- Marseille conceded 42 goals in 38 Ligue 1 games- that's 1.1 goals a game conceded
Last season- Robles conceded 20 goal in 13 BPL games- that's 1.5 goals a game conceded
Last season- Howard conceded 35 goals in 25 BPL games- that's 1.4 goals a game conceded

Ino BPL is a better league
Mandanda is second choice behind lloris for france and id say would easily be our number 1 quality keeper

There's a case to argue though that Robles (and Howard) have both been put behind an awful defence this season and the keeper has had absolutely zero protection. Like the cup semi winner for United, Robles could do nothing, sold short by his defence. Not to mention Ligue 1 is notoriously dull and the premier league seems to be getting more and more goals of recent years.

They were both really good in the Toulon tournament as crap as the opposition were.

Howard and Robles were put behind a poor defence but Robles isn't the answer and we need someone with experience, mandanda is 31 and been with France so has had experience of being with the big players.

Practice is where people improve and for the last 2 weeks and next 5-6 weeks- he's training by stopping shots to Pogba, Martial etc, can only improve
