Affordable given we should have a shed load to spend, albeit expensive in relative terms! Around 30- 35 million I reckon.
Sad thing is, it wasn't anything more than a mundane, run-of-the-mill effort. McCarthy could and should have beaten him to it.
I'd still have Witsel though, he's a cracking player. Genuine box to box midfielder, regardless of where Wilmots prefers to deploy him. He'd instantly be the best midfielder at Goodison.
That's 1/3rd of our supposed budget mate. If he comes in at that price we might only sign one other marquee player.
Years of living on the breadline has made me wary of big money signings!
