It's hard to judge when he's only ever taken over great teams with an unlimited transfer budget.

What he did with Barca was outstanding. It not only set up the best club side of the last 20 years, but also the best national side in a generation.

No surprise that since he went to Bayern, Spain's fortunes also started to slump.

The city job will test this theory. He his a fantastic manager but criticism of no plan b have been mentioned. It'll be interesting

Agree 100%.

But my point is at this time as a 22-year-old from Barnsley, who would you rather play under (forgetting money for a moment).

Ronald Koeman - a fantastic player and proven manager but at a club that has finished 11th for the past two seasons.

or

Pep Guardiola - a great player and proven winner renowned for his style of play etc, at a club that will be in the top four and have sights on the CL and title.

Can we please remind ourselves how poor Stones was at times last season, despite his obvious potential. (Only potential) So, £50 million , yes please.

Can we also remind ourselves how Rom decided to go missing for the last 6 months and the countless times he's tried to sell himself through the media. He's a mercenary. £65 million, yes please.

Players will come and go, but we will always remain. No player is bigger than our club, ever.

Guardiola goes from winning teams to winning teams.

Coming 1st with a team that finished 1st the season before is way less impressive than what Simeone did. If Guardiola is the best in the world does that not mean Jupp Heynckes is even better because he won the treble with Bayern before Guardiola?

Top manager no doubt. The best? Debatable. He's an innovator but I'd like to see him do it with a smaller team.

Every player is a mercenary, so unfair to single out just Rom IMO.

The principle is right though.

However, the bit in bold - this is the sticking point. Nobody will offer that much for Rom except maybe PSG. I can't see Arsenal going for it and Utd now won't. Chelsea maybe, if they sell Costa, and it just shows Rom / his dad and agent up to be liars if he goes there.

Apparently these poor games was down to Martinez so maybe stones could have done with a better manager and pep will know how to manage stones better.

Sky Sports on Wednesday morning "Breaking News Everton Bid For Witsel".

They really are dog turd with the news this season, well even more so than previous seasons.
