Everton Transfer Thread 2016

The Everton thread on RAWK is going nuts at the moment – they are loving how we are all putting our faith in Esk and waiting for a transfer today.

Even more reason to pray something comes off today (and I don’t mean my boxers)

meh, i don't care when these signings happen. But if the only solace they can have from the type of players we'll be buying is that they didn't happen on a friday then fair play to them.

he's a mod you absolute doughnut. You think a moderator of an everton forum would make up stories to wind up fellow evertonians on a site where he has a large role.

god you're thick.

Could do without the personal insults just because we have different opinions, thanks.

And yes I think that. You don't need qualifications to be a mod. Absolutely anyone could do it.

He isn't doing it to wind you up. He is doing it for self recognition on the off chance that he is right. It's human nature, I guess.

Can't understand why an announcement is expected today with the manager, staff, team and even the under 21's out of the country. Where would this announcement take place and by whom would it be given?
The massacre in France surely just reinforces that it can't be today. A leak in the Telegraph shows there's been encouraging movement on the DOF front and hopefully next week will bring concrete movement regarding signings. More patience required.
This is the most amazing thing I've read on here in beards.

We can't make signings today because of the incident in Nice, France last night?

@The Esk plz confirm.

Regardless my point was that the club didn't come out with the statement "buy a ST and we promise marquee signings" did they? Fans purchasing one solely under that premise aren't really fans.

I agree that this is obviously not what the club said but the overall buzz and hype behind the takeover was generated from the club with ST sales in mind IMO.

I disagree that anyone would purchase one solely "hurr durr we're gonna spend monies" but if I was a casual fan who went to maybe 5 or 6 games a season dependent on how I felt, what game it was etc and then BOOM. We've got 2 world class players about to pull on the Royal Blue it would certainly push me into making a more hefty commitment in terms of buying tickets.

Deulofeu signed early in the window last summer.
As you said, the Lukaku transfer created a buzz but we also signed Barry and Eto'o that summer.
The buzz around Mirallas when he signed was huge on here and it was earlyish as well.

I know where you're coming from with what you're saying... I just think we all need to relax a bit. This will be a fantastic transfer window, so let's not torture ourselves.

Fully agree
