I don't frequent that site - but they are hardly in a position to snigger at Evertons transfer activity. A sum rising to €42m for Sadio Mane is the very definition of desperation and one or two unheard of names signed in addition. They are hardly setting the world alight themselves. Gotze changed agent rather than entertain the thought of joining them and like it or not, they have been in slow and relative decline over the past decade, the odd cup and Suarez-inspired exploits excepted.

He could go for Schneiderlin but he goes after a mercenary who doesn't even look that good in Witsel, who makes his career playing against farmers.
