Everton Transfer Thread 2016

Scoring isn't our problem, defending is. I'd rather we bid £21m for Jack Butland and get him in.

I don't know how much they'd want for him, but I think he'd love a chance to play for us over Stoke.

i think he'd possibly see it as a bit of a sideways step and prefer to wait for a better offer to be honest. Footballer's careers are short, so they're possibly not going to look at our vast young talent as fondly as we do.

Basically yes mate lol, as a club we have form for using the window to announce new contracts for players and using it as a deflection technique, the fact we haven't this window and there has been no sniff of that makes me think they have something else in the offing

We shall see but Martinez doesn't usually use this window for big signings

Not a big thing, but I like the way he just deals with a ball that's going through over our centre backs heads, just sweeps it up,with TH there is indecision,is he coming,is he dealing with it?,the centre backs just do not know.

It really isn't though is it?

Kaladze & Shevchenko at Milan, Kanchelskis at United and us, Konoplynka at Seville, Tymoschuk & Costa at Bayern, Mkhitaryan at Dortmund, Willian at Chelsea, just off the top of my head are all players who basically earned there reputations in the Ukrainian league before moving on - and all of those would be deemed as very good successes.

Comparing him with McGeady though is amusing mate, it's like comparing Kone to Lukaku

Why are you mentioning jarg players in jarg leagues? And wait a minute, why have you mentioned a load of Brazilians?

Every single Russian/Ukraine player has bombed when they came to England, the only success EVER has been Andrei Kanchelskis.

I look forward to your comeback post where you suggest that Pele did ok in the MLS.

Everton have been given fresh hope they could sign Dynamo Kiev's Andriy Yarmolenko in January.

The player's representatives were at Goodison on Wednesday night to watch the Blues face Manchester City in the Capital One Cup semi-final and the 26-year-old wants a moveto the Premier League.

Everton failed in a summer move for the Ukraine star and were prepared to wait until the end of the season before making a second approach.

But it is understood that Blues chiefs now believe they can land him in the January window, and so are working hard to try and tie up a deal for the attacker.

Dynamo president Ihor Surkis had been unwilling to sell Yarmolenko until the end of the campaign after Kiev progressed to the last 16 of the Champions League but his stance has softened and the right offer may persuade him to sell.

Everton will have to pay in excess of £20m for the Ukraine international but believe they can steal a march on a host of other European clubs this month - ahead of the European Championships in June - by completing a deal early.

But any transfer remains at the discretion of Surkis who has proven himself to be among the toughest negotiators in European football and can be particular about who he sells Kiev's best players to.

Everton were confident a deal was close in the summer but despite their best attempts – and meeting with Kiev officials in Monaco – the transfer failed to materialise.

Strange if the player's reps were there... would suggest something may happen or be in the pipeline.

Could quite easily be Dynamo Kyiv reps though, which would make sense since they would likely be scouting City for next month.

Where's this from mate?

Come on Mout. Yarmolenko is a good player. He's been good for them in the Champions league and consistently been good for them in the Europa League when they've been in it. Also, he's been fantastic for a very decent Ukraine side.

Still would have to prove himself in the Prem, but I reckon he's shown enough to suggest he would be a success.
