I like Sigurdsson a lot tbh and would be pretty happy if we signed him. I also don't believe £25m is too much in today's market, its a pretty fair price. However he is no alternative to Juan Mata. He's a goal threat yes, but 2 assists in 36 league games last season? We need a more creative player as a marquee signing. Bit gutted that the Mata ship appears to have sailed.

EDIT: Maybe with a better goalscorer in front of him he'd rack up the assists. I still think he's a very good player and would be a good signing for us.

In the current market we could likely sell McCarthy for 15m comfortably, Cleverley woudl go for 10m as well, sounds mental like but look at the fees for domestic proven players now. that would cover the cost for say Carvalho

then youd be left with Begovic (10m) second mid (20m) playmaker (20-25m) backup striker (10-15m) - so a 60-70m spend which really isn't unrealistic and a fair few clubs will do that this season

I guess so. It's just so weird - as an Everton fan - to think like that! Firstly need to see it happen, and then secondly believe it actually happened! Will wait ...

Maybe under Koeman Sigurdsson may impress but I've never noticed him in any game I've watched. Wouldn't be a signing I'd want but if he comes then hopefully he can prove me wrong, and I would deffo give the guy a chance.

Harald "Hardrada" Siggurdsson is better than Cleverley, and he's been dead for almost a millennium.
 

Transfer prices have rocketed this summer and although some prices look rediculous other clubs are paying the prices.

Think we as supporters all just have the old Everton mindset when it comes to transfers of wheeling and dealing and getting good players for low prices,

But football has changed and Everton has changed with it, just don't think we as supporters have changed with it yet.

We should embrace this new Everton and look at the player we are going for and not the price tag
