Everton Transfer Thread 2016

Are we a PR company or a football club?

Why does the club need PR with the fans? Record ST sales, buzz around the club with the new manager, the club knows the windows a marathon not a sprint.

Everybodys assuming the sale will happen before we buy anyway.

Don't get why they've all suddenly become so bothered about a face-saving exercise...

Weird. Loads of people thought stones was overrated. Then hes off for 50m (world record transfer for both an englishman and a defender) and its like "nooooo the apocalypse".

He wants to go. Its overpriced.

And whats gonna happen?

Spurs is already sold out, they have our money, they care little for our appeasement, they are running a football club not a nursery for oversized babies who cant keep hold of their toys.

No point in going into hypothetical situations of what if nothing happens. I still believe a lot of money will be spent on improving the team, though IMO at least some of it should have been done by now

My original point still stands for me. Selling to buy makes us still look small time, which we have been led to believe we are not any more as far as finances go.

Well that really seems to be a sticking point just at present, as they haven't brought one in yet mate and we kick off in 2 weeks.

What's the rush? This isn't a quick fix to get us challenging the top 4, it's a major rebuilding job. It will be a season or two before we're in a position to make a serious challenge. This season will be one of transition, of getting the team to gel and play Koeman's way. Don't be expecting miracles to happen overnight whether we make 5 signings tomorrow or on the final day of the window. Other teams around us are improving the side they have, we are not - we are rebuilding from the mess left behind by Martinez.

If Witsel's reps hadn't been tits we'd have most likely broken our current transfer record about two weeks ago...

I'd rather wait another few weeks to (hopefully) get our no.1 target for that position instead of immediately going 'no we need to save face and go and spend £20mil on the next Jordan Henderson'.

exactly, 2 weeks, not 2 days.

So you clearly don't believe there is any value in getting them in early to settle in and hit the deck running? I do, I guess that's where we differ.

We have just finished below mid table for 2 seasons running, we do need to improve a bit like!

I guess we will all just hope it comes good in the end.

Why try and turn a sensible debate into an internet unfunny man competition?
