Everton Transfer Thread 2016

Out of interest, when do YOU consider time is running out to make and establish signings for the Spurs match? Yesterday you were saying it is all fine. How many days do you consider enough?

Deadline day. Like it or not, this is going to be a season of transition - working the "Martinez" out of the side. Whether we sign players now, or on deadline day it doesn't really make any odds. What is most important is getting the right players in and starting the process of bedding them into the Koeman way of playing. The current squad are still finding it difficult to adjust to Koeman's methods and that is not surprising after two years of having the Martinez method drilled into them. Forget about any dreams you had of challenging the top 4 this season, it ain't gonna happen unless some sort of miracle occurs.

Ashley Williams is a genuine target. Family friend is on the management team at Swansea. We've lodged a bid today of 7.5m. Swansea wanted closer to double that, mainly because of the way the markets been. Bid was made this morning.

Preseason games mean very little they are mainly about fitness.Yes we would have liked a few in by now but I expect two in before the season starts. And more by the end of the window.Koeman and Walsh got this.

Further to our earlier conversation:

Shown up by a german 2nd division side (yes I know it was only a friendly).

2 weeks until season starts

Team looks like it is still under RM

Are you still happy for us to fumble along not signing anyone of note even though we have best part of a 100mil in our pockets?

Ideally we could have done with a signing this week gone.

Since that looks unlikely, I'd say two next week would be a good start. This time next week would be the final chance of getting somebody in and they been ready to take some part in the Spurs game I'd say.

But, you have to grasp that it won't be for a lack of trying. We are going for our no.1 targets and due to us being tosh for two years (and longer, in general) it's a harder sell than if we'd finished 5th.

Why are we being linked with so many older players? Ashley Williams Ffs

Rumour has it Koeman is looking at us as a short term employer until one of the bigger teams come in, so he wants players that are experienced without being past it, rather than build a squad for the future.
