Everton Transfer Thread 2016

If he had a foreign name and played for a foreign club then people would be all for this. He's a no-nonsense, old-school defender because he wins headers, blocks shots and gets stuck into attackers. He's also a leader on the pitch and we're sorely lacking in them right now.

Underrated player in an underrated team, £10m is steep but that's the prices you have to pay for squad players nowadays. Fine buy for me.

The problem is he turns 32 soon and we are hardly going to attract big names and look ambitions by signing Williams , I less it's a coy to lure Bale ! :p

That price is surprising, why would they accept that, they don't need the money now ?
How longs left on his contract?, that may be why he's cheaper than he should be.

He's a rock solid defender who leads a team from the back, a great signing to sure up the defence for a season, if we get 3 out of him it's all gravy, and he'll easy be a top draw defender for the next 3 seasons in the Prem, no brainer.

As it stands a massive improvement over Stones in our defence if it happens, fact, Stones is a work in progress that may well become a world class centre back, but Williams will improve our defence in the short term, and he's a leader of men to boot.
Never going to happen but stones and Williams would be a terrific partnership. Williams would organise him and the remainder of the defence, alas it won't happen.

Ayew is off to West Ham too for around £20mill. There are a few articles from worried Swans fans on their forum questioning the new owners and a thread on asset stripping. Maybe all the owners see is £10mill for a 32 year old and think its too good to refuse without considering his worth to that team.

Williams. I like him. Missing a no nonsense defender. Experienced. One of the better defenders in the league. Always looks like a leader. Would be happy with him

Dont believe the Lukaku story off that awful paper and dont believe the Williams story either.

Not even worth discussing but a very good player.
