Everton Transfer Thread 2016

True this, even if Stones stays I would like us to get Williams but Koulibaly is only really to replace someone, hopfully for less then Stones might go for.

Exactly. If we went for Williams now and he came and Stones stayed at the end of the window I'd be delighted.

But Kouilbaly is one of those that we'd only get if Stones went

Offer the higher wages and then tell them they have to decide whether to wait for interest or sign with us. Simple really.

If it means we get turned down then so be it,
plenty of time to find replacements. You are thinking of it much too nicely here. We need to be securing these deals and being ruthless about it, not every player will wait for a better offer and we could do business much more quickly. If they want to wait to see if another club comes in then it's only their pocket thst is affected. If 4 weeks down the line after we walk away the deal is on and the interest never came then that is when the player will happily sign or stay put.

Either way in a straight shootout now between us and champions league clubs, we aren't going to win.

Wow Ash, this can't really be what you'd advocate, is it? If you start throwing around ultimatums then it won't be long before agents and other teams won't even answer our calls. You'd end up signing players who were your 10th backup options. You can play hardball with fees and wages but you can't expect players to not want some time to decide their futures.

I'd like to know how Koeman feels about being given a "war-chest" to spend when the top players have seemingly no interest in coming to the club, it must be frustrating, and to be honest has made us look a bit West Ham-ish in my opinion.

He knows more than us and he is probably just fine.

He's probably very happy with his 7 Million a year, regardless.

Fumes Mori. Not convinced by him yet has clangers in him.

Right, this infuriates me.

It's pre-season. It's a miracle he's got a new contract - earning millions per annum. He's played in 6% of games in the last 2 years. He should have been sacked on the spot when he ran over a cyclist drunk, in any other profession he would have been. His performances in friendlies have been awful yet he's in a busy kebab shop in the early hours.

Clearly pissed up again, his eyes are diluted, pulling a stupid face and his fly is open. Who actually eats that garbage sober, never mind a "professional athlete".

I'm starting to get the feeling you're on the wind up with your constant defence of all things blue.

If ever a post was representative of a thread then this is it. Outstanding work.

So another transfer rumour thread starts up and here we are with none of them actually signing

What happened to Gueye?

That's Gueye mata witsel carvalhio Williams koulibaly off the top of my head. Not including rolan and yet none of them are signing. Been 5 weeks at least, something must be causing issues to have not signed them yet

It's not rocket science......the clue is in the word "rumour".

But the thing is we aren't being arrogant in that situation. In any case we are meeting the transfer value and offering better wages for the player.

So for arguments sake witsel, it's been that long that Juventus can now go in there and match our offer. If 2 weeks ago we had said look sign or wait for someone better than we could have been negotiating for someone else .

So yes I do advocate the club use a bit of common sense and try to sign players there and then rather than wait around for other parties. If we are already offering big wages then it isn't like we are messing the player about
