Think everyone needs to take a deep breath. We're making progress with our major targets and we've got a month of the window left.

Koeman has identified those who will not play a part in the 1st team squad, he has Walsh working on deals and we can fund any purchase we can make.

Still confident of 4 major signings and additions to take us to 8 in with 3 or 4 fringe/not required leaving.

Guessing these will be Kone, Niasse, McGeady and from his total omission thus far, Garbutt.

almost definitely. If somebody offers god money for Gibson and/or McCarthy - if we've got midfielders in, imagine they'll be off. Same for Stones/Rom if their valuations are met

In terms of progressing transfers, tomorrow will be Groundwork Day. Then same again Tuesday. And Wednesday. Thursday we get to re-write the script! Friday will be crictical acclaim and awards!

Which is fantastic news if we do get 8 in, but it also highlights that with every day that passes of the window, we'd struggle to prepare a team for Spurs if say up to 8 players might only have one pre season game with thier new team mates. I'm honestly not trying to be negative, but the reality is that right now how could Koeman know his 'best 11' if there are still say up to 8 new signings with only 2 weeks to Spurs game?

our best XI as it stands is good enough to get a result vs Spurs mate. Hopefully there'll be at least 1 or 2 in by then that can take some part in the game as well

Fonte's a very good player who was key in Portugal winning the Euros, mind.

I think he's a player who has been enhanced by being at a club that suits him since he was brought in as a no-mark in League One, and has carried that sense of belonging to the international stage.

Displacing him has a very high chance of resulting in a big flop at the wrong side of 30.

We should be looking at much better options.
