I can see that being the case, but with Norwich, Swansea and Newcastle all rumoured to be interested in Naismith, I could see this being a move by him and his agent to get more money or getting Everton to accept a lower transfer fee for him By him saying "I'm happy to stay here" it puts the ball back in the clubs courts, how much do we want to sell him? How desperate are these teams to sign him?

Wouldn't/Shouldn't that be the other way around tho? If more teams are interested, shouldn't it be a 'well, then offer more than those other two teams'?

Looks like Naismith is pulling the pin on the Norwich move as he wants to wait until the summer according to one of the daily rags this morning

Leeds are also looking for 5 million for Sam Byram we have supposed to have offered only three million, suppose the deal has to start somewhere

Finally on Newsnow it states that Everton will wait until the summer to move on Howard when they bring in Ospina from Arsenal, great move if that comes off

I highly doubt naismith wants to stay mate. He isnt getting games here at all, moving down the league would give him that and he doesn't strike me as the type to happily sit on the bench.

Also Ospina was very recently spoke of by wenger saying he thinks he is world class and will be his number one was chech gets older.

The Naismith deal is just down to us waiting as long as possible for other offers to come in, and making sure we have a target if he does go I reckon.

There's rumoured interest from Swansea now, to add to Villa and Norwich, and potentially Sunderland. So it makes sense from our point of view to wait and see what our options are - if injuries hit us in the next few weeks he may even have to stay!

I imagine this deal will go through, but it won't be until towards the end of the window.
