Everton Transfer Thread 2016

This is the everton transfer thread, sadly every saddo i have on ignore is bring up the RS and i have to see them pop up because people have to pipe them down.

Don't worry about them, seriously.

Most PL team sign players with over inflated prices. Even Moyes with Sunderland bought a Chelsea player who never have one full game for them by 8 mil.

If we are just waiting to get "bargain" or as you called it the right price, we won't get anyone till the end of this summer window.

I never said bargain at all, I said getting what you need for the right price. Massive difference.

We need a leader at the back, buying ashley Williams for £10-12m yes, spending £20m no

I guarantee that the league games will be a shock to how structured we are, there's no free fall, Ron has got this.

His main issue this preseason on was to improve fitness, defensive structure and general play i.e. not being afford to go long instead of looking for the short pass.

..well, I have a long standing view that a poor pre-season often results in a good season so you might be right. Fingers crossed, but i fear the squad needs bolstering significantly otherwise we will struggle.

I'm sure the majority of us can't even understand the complexity of trying to get a transfer through from start to finish. Sometimes it's not just about throwing money at anything just to appease some crying arse fans, it's getting what you want for the right price
Can't be that hard mate, all of our rivals have improved their squads and brought new players in. Must be too many of the inept Kenwright regime still hanging around. Something has gone wrong, because buying players a few days before the season starts, any manager I am absolutely certain would say, is not ideal at all.

martinez had to work with 10 years of a fair bit of negativity from the moyes era. We drew our first 3 games, then bang, end up with our record premier league points tally. Things can be changed around very swiftly.
True, however I think the squad Martinez took over had much more harmony, were well disciplined and arguably a team of players.

I think while the squad Koeman has inherited is arguably a more talented squad, there's very little of any of the the above so that needs rebuilding.

I think there will be one day a marked change in our fortunes, but it will not happen over night as they need to regain the bread and butter skills.

I think the preasons has been poorly organised again, unfortunately the second year on the run by Bobby. This 2 games in the less then 24 hours was bizarre. However, if he's beasted them, got the fitness up and drilled them and drilled them then we'll be fine.

We won't struggle, but the squad needs to depth and a bit of quality, which we'll get, may take a bit longer then we'd like but they'll be there

with moshiri's money, it was always going to be a case tbf. was just trying to put a marker for everyone fretting about the first game of the season. A poor first month can always be turned around, even when moving to a totally new style of football.

So you'd like us to spend £13m on townsend or £15 on James Tompkins just for the sake of it? Or would you prefer us to aim higher for the witsels and mata's of this world; the problem is that these type of players will have options and it's a lot easier to convince andros townsend then it is to Alex witsel.

And this has nothing to do with the board, this is the players choice and his agent whoring him around for a better deal or a bigger club

..which is why our situation is like a game of poker, do we gamble on getting the strategic targets in later in the window and risk losing the lot or do we look to bring in shorter term support immediately.

Think we are doing both. The Villa lad and the goalie fit the filler angle, Williams too, if he comes.

The bigger names are obviously proving more awkward, to say the least.

Very frustrating.

or are we just football fans for a reason and not in a negotiating capacity for a premier league club. You honestly think the people in charge haven't got multiple of backup options and haven't considered this possibility?

I'm sure we have more than one option on the table, and I'm sure the club are aware of when to stick or twist.

I'd be more annoyed with buying someone for the sake of buying. There is very little coming out of the club, it's a tight ship; however, could I see koeman leaving Southampton if he wasn't promised signings, no.

...I agree but the 'buying for the sake of buying' becomes more likely the nearer the window closure comes (if out targets aren't realised). Fascinating few weeks that I'm sure will inform our season.
