Everton Transfer Thread 2016

When the transfer thread goes all loopy nuts, I always remember a passage in Fergies 1st biography, when he had been promised by Gazza that, in his own words, "Dont worry Mt Ferguson, enjoy your holiday, I will be a United player next season"

2 weeks later, while on holiday in Malta, Fergie was phoned by Martin Edwards saying Gazza had signed for Spurs.

I personally believe the money is there, Evertons reputation has just taken a Hammering over the past 2 seasons under Martinez, not only the successive 11th placed finishes, but also the media promoting our top stars such as Lukaku and Stones wanting to leave for a "big club."

Its going to take a year or so to regain some recognition around europe, a top 7 finish is a must this season.

...I agree but the 'buying for the sake of buying' becomes more likely the nearer the window closure comes (if out targets aren't realised). Fascinating few weeks that I'm sure will inform our season.

It's going to be ace when we see some world class players holding up the scarf on the hallowed turf

He's a chief executive officer, he runs the day to day of the club

Yea I know that's his role but it seems he's not like a normal chief exec.

The chief exec where I work call the shots, they are involved in the top negotiations/discussions at the very highest level.

I find it hard to think Everton's chief exec has no authority. Why keep him in the role then?

Well, after a change of ownership, new owners would be a bit daft to lob everyone over board. Even if he is useless, he will nevertheless know more about the ins and outs of the club than any of Moshiris lads.

Once that is exhausted, I would expect a change. Unless he proves himself as competent. Which I am led to believe, is unlikely.

He'll be involved in everything, player trading negotiations will be down to Walsh now; in all honesty he's had free ride with kenWright and struck some awful deals like kitbag and Chang. ...that's elstone for you.

As a ceo he's had some major failures, it's bizzare that he kept his position, but he has someone who will more ruthless looking down now
