We are obviously selling stones to fund stuff, nothing's changed.
That's fine, it happens and books need to be balanced.
This makes no sense on any level.
Even without Moshiri and the new TV money we spent 28 million on Rom and 13 million on Niasse!
There is not a chance we have been able to lure Koeman from a team that finished above us 2 years on the bounce without a substantial transfer kitty being in place.
Likewise, we would surely not have managed to poach the current English Champion's Head Scout without assurances that there is a solid plan in place and money to spend.
If we had to sell to buy, I'm pretty sure the combined talents of Koeman, Walsh and Moshiri would have ensured it had happened by now.
Clearly something is delaying the influx of new blood, but there's no logic to that being a lack of funds. Most obvious answer is that it has proved very difficult to convince the players we want that Everton is the right move but no one on here can know that for sure, and given that the likes of Witsel, Carvalho, Mata etc have yet to sign for anyone else and there's still almost a month to go, it's still very likely we will make some quality signings. (May not be any of them of course, because I don't think the media have a clue who our real targets are).
What I do know is that I have a lot more confidence that everything will be ok by the end of the window with the above three in charge of things than I did 12 months ago with Bobby, Bill and Elstone.
