If you mean personal wage...fine.

But surely its the case of emperors new clothes....eg selling best players etc?
I just think in honesty all Koeman has to do is make us work hard and put us back in the top 10 and he'd be considered somewhat a success.

Koeman had he stayed at southampton would have had some great expectations on his shoulders on the back of their previous season.

I still think we need to be ambitious and not spend our money on [Poor language removed]. Looks what happened with Niasse almost £20 million flushed down the toilet for nothing.

We have to buy quality and maybe we need to be patient to secure it.

I really do have a sinking feeling right now :(

Quality is subjective.

For example, if Gueye is electric and does a Kante role for us, he'd be far more valuable for our team than Ibrahimovic would have been.

The key is quality in the right areas for the right reasons. That's why I'm not totally against spending a bit on Williams, as I can see the logic. I don't see it with Bolasie though - can't think of one good reason to sign him.

I'm in total agreement.

But personally, i think with the current squad he could do that as is, especially if Martinez could get 12th.

Maybe the top 8 is over egging it but I'm going off the fact we've got a 20 goal a season striker West Ham, RS, Saints, don't.

Again, I'll go back to the RS. Klopp came in and just got that team playing and performed more than what Rodgers would've done in less than a season.

Scored what like 20 goals a season in each of his last 3 seasons? Yer mate, massively overrated. Be interested in you showing me any players outside the 'big four' who produce that amount of goals as regular as he does.

You know what, he´s not overrated, I take that back. Inconsistent maybe.

Fair comment and i agree to a degree, in the means that I would definitely expect better from Koeman than from what Martinez had us doing (just down to his tactics and common sense) - however those teams you've mentioned tend to spread goals from everywhere, which actually seems a more successful path than just relying on one big man to do the business - in the long run.

In specific reference to the RS/Klopp though I can't really say anything to that, he quite rightly has got them performing better than Rodgers etc but really he hasn't actually done anything noteworthy for them has he? He's as much a nearly man as Rodgers ever was. And to this day they are signing the level of players we are scoffing at right now, and rightly so from our point of view.

Forgot where I was going with all of this by this point, but it's been a nice little chat haha
