Payet is a bad example. West Ham were genuinely the only team wanting him and Marseille needed to sell.

Witsel is clearly waiting on Juve, Carvalho has been linked with better teams for years etc.

Koeman is a better manager and even if those players left...I couldn't even see him getting us relegated if Martinez couldn't.

We can't act like Koeman is the messiah, not doing this all over again! Koeman was almost sacked by Southampton before turning their fortunes around after a lengthy string of bad results (ok the same cannot be said for Martinez).

So far the preseason has been uninspiring to say the least, and whilst I want and do think Koeman is the right man for the job at this point - even he can see our squad, especially centre midfield, isn't that great.

The thing is though Tubey, are Elstone and Kenwright going to burn themselves out if they know they are off?

These ultra-experienced football people haven't joined the board as predicted. There's no tangible stadium progress.

Predicted level of signings has nose dived. Predicted net spend has halved.

We're fighting the Stoke / Palace tier of the league again. So disappointing.
 

once pogba signs for utd juve will sign most of our "targets". still a week to go but at therate we're signing players aint lookin good.

and we have a new contract on the table for Lukaku which sure as shi will put a bar above which we won't go on any new signign, so if the figure of 135k pw is true, we can forget about Mata etc as he isnt gonna take close to a 40k pw paycut, it also hamstrings us in regards to any major 'name' signing as basically the wages we we will offer will not be very much higher than the teams above us will offer for a squad player, so basically the entire bidding system on these players has been a hopeful punt not a genuine attempt to make any clear statement as a club

Scored what like 20 goals a season in each of his last 3 seasons? Yer mate, massively overrated. Be interested in you showing me any players outside the 'big four' who produce that amount of goals as regular as he does.
 
I still think we need to be ambitious and not spend our money on [Poor language removed]. Looks what happened with Niasse almost £20 million flushed down the toilet for nothing.

We have to buy quality and maybe we need to be patient to secure it.

I really do have a sinking feeling right now :(
