Williams is the leader that we have been missing at the club. Very good addition based on what he can offer and the price in this market isn't too high either.

If anything him signing means the defence has improved since stones left, we will concede less and with a 25 goal striker up front I would argue straight away the team looks better to finish higher than last year

pretty similar to Tottenham when they sold Bale and yet they replaced him with a heap of players (not saying they were all successful but at least there was ambition...)

Signing a lot of players does not necessarily equate to ambition.

I think mass signings is the norm for a lot of teams nowadays and look how often that fails.

Its about balance and the right blend of players.

Maybe Walsh and Koeman have a master plan maybe its on a whim who knows but it does not necessarily mean we lack ambition that's kind of a general observation based on something because we are not other clubs.

Also 31 is not old anymore in modern athletics and sports in general i am sick of reading that. Especially for defenders. Countless of defenders have played well into their 30's at the highest level.

Even in other sports there are hundreds of top athletes in their 30's just look at the Olympics sprinters and runners at the highest level.

Sure training and peak condition has changed a lot and a lot more guys and girls are doing more in their 30's and even 40's to stay at their peak especially with modern sports science and techniques.
