Everton Transfer Thread 2016

We're not Juventus, we're a mid table Premier League side with no Euro football and a trophy cabinet gathering dust. As painful as that sounds, it's true.
pretty similar to Tottenham when they sold Bale and yet they replaced him with a heap of players (not saying they were all successful but at least there was ambition...)

I like how the most obvious of obvious things happens today and this forum goes nuts.

Also, replacing Stones with Williams is an UPGRADE this season. Now, in 3 years Williams may not be better than Stones, but for this season, he is. We will have a better team, and win more points this season than we would have done otherwise. The price paid for Stones was future potential.

Stones might have potential to be the best cb in footballing history. Too many mistakes in his game at the minute. An offer like citys we would have been mad to reject it, let him make his 4-5 errors a game elsewhere while hes trying to fulfill his potential if he ever does..i wish him well for the future good luck to him

I'm getting really worried. It feels like Everton are in panic mode now and are willing to massively overpay for mid-level talent. This is what I was afraid of when our "warchest" was first announced. This is what Liverpool do whenever they drop a bunch of cash and it never works out for them. Spending £100-£150 million on a bunch of mediocre players is a sure fire way to destroy our hopes of Champions League and titles.

So kenwright has blagged us... Moshri blags koeman.... Koeman blags... Walsh

They sign players for cheap and all slot the money and buy an island or 6 smoking Cubans drinking rum. Ah that's the one lol lol lol

This thread is unlike anything I have ever seen in sports. We have a lot of "die hard" fanatics to particular teams here in the states, but the level of bilge spewed has got my head warped like a funhouse mirror.

Brass tax: You support the shirt on the players right?

This is like 5 threads of ranting on 100 different topics all rolled into a smush of gobbledegook.
In other words...

Carry on. I am having a blast watching the melt and the tomfoolery

The crushing lack of ambition is sickening.

We can have as much ambition as we like, but we can't force players to join us. In the situation we are in (no european football, mid table strugglers) there are only two types of "top" player who will join us:

  • Mercenaries just after big pay day - no thanks
  • Players who will buy in to the project. This is proving difficult it seems
