Esk has re-tweeted someone comparing us to Juve selling Pogba and how it doesn't mean we have no ambition. You'd probably say Juventus have no ambition if they replaced Pogba with Gareth Barry, because that's what the Williams deal looks like to me.

Williams is the leader that we have been missing at the club. Very good addition based on what he can offer and the price in this market isn't too high either.

If anything him signing means the defence has improved since stones left, we will concede less and with a 25 goal striker up front I would argue straight away the team looks better to finish higher than last year

Prob because Williams challenges for far more than Stones does. Every time you saw a striker nodding in a free header in our 6 yard box last season didn't count towards Stones' duels won stat. He wasn't even close enough to a lot of them to even contest it.

Possibly. Or he isn't half as bad at defending as some people are trying to pretend. The boy is amazing. In ten years time, Citeh fans could easily be claiming him as one of their best ever signings.

It's like Rio all over again. Though there are STILL some weirdos who still pretend HE wasn't that great.
