Everton Transfer Thread 2016

I think the club is focused on generating increased revenue through avenues like a new stadium, better sponsorship, higher finishes in the table.
Off field revenue will always reflect success on the pitch. Without success on the pitch we can't increase our profits. See the problem without selling players to allow us to increase our wage bill?

All that other stuff is important but the new stadium is miles off and the rest comes after success on the pitch.

Tbh if he sold lukaku and stones in the same window he would be a horrible asset stripper. Kenwright never even pocketed that much.

Not that I see him leaving but still. I like a spade being called a spade.

Johnson came in with a hell of a lot mof promises and statmenets about ambition, the ground improving etc etc etc, in the end we saw what happened, Moshiri needs to back up 'words' (not that he has said much) with actions, if the first tangable actions are the sale of the two most valuable assets at the club then yeah it bodes terribly for us

the esk said this in his post mate

Selling Rom this year is the worst of all world's. The only positive is that it would permit us to sell Niasse at a loss this year but that's no consolation.

you responded to that post 'agree with all of this'

so i asked you a very simple question, why would that be a positive when we can allow Niasse to leave for nothing without it impacting us this season already without selling Lukaku - or do you disagree that we can do so?

He never made a definitive matter on the issue himself. He was clearly speculating. Which you then turned into a definitive statement

@The Esk clearly never said any such thing about him actually being sold or will be sold.

which only actually matters if we actually plan to raise our wages by the maximum we can do year in year out to catch those above us, as of right now mate it won't make a blind bit of difference - we are currently allowed to raise our wages by approx 890k per week post the stones sale, how much you think we are going to raise them by?

I've already told @MoutsGoat - if it's not 8 by September. It will be 8 by January 2017.

Simple.

People have got their own timings wrong.

If and I stress if, Lukaku is sold the we would have to be very busy in the January window.

I stress I do not believe he will be sold, he will sign a new contract.

Surely it would be impossible? I can't see how we would raise wages by 10s of millions this year in January or otherwise. I'm not sure how we're going to raise them in line with the Stones sale as things are going but to add £70+M (-£28M amortised) to that target would be inconceivable.

We need a good team first and foremost and always to play in a nice new shiny stadium!

If both were sold this window without bringing in players to increase the wage bill then it also shows he has no intention of investing in the team in the future due to STCC. It wouldn't even be open to debate.

Lets realistically compare ourselves to the others. I have excluded Man City, Man Utd and Cheslea because right now we are nowhere near their level.

In a way, its pointless mentioning Arsenal, Liverpool and Tottenham because at the moment they are a more attractive option than us, so it would have been very difficult to sign their targets.

But of the signings so far, other than those highlighted, I can't think of many that would really improve us.

Leicester City -
Bought - Ron-Robert Zieler (goalkeeper), Nampalys Mendy, Ahmed Musa, Kapustka

Sold - Kante

Arsenal
Bought - Granit Xhaka

Tottenham Hotspur

Bought - Wanyama, Vincent Janssen

Southampton
Sold - Wanyama, Mane, Graziano Pelle

Bought - Nathan Redmond, Pierre-Emile Højbjerg

West Ham United
Bought - Sofiane Feghouli, Andre Ayew, Arthur Masuaku
Sold- James Tomkins

Liverpool
Bought - Mane, Matip, Klavan, Wijnaldum
Sold - Ibe, Skirtel, Allen

Stoke City

Bought- Allen, Sobhi,
Sold-

Swansea City

Bought - Leroy Fer, Fernando Llorente
Sold - Williams, Andre Ayew,

Watford
Bought - Jerome Sinclair, Kabasele, Isaac Success, Juan Camilo Zúñiga, Brice Dja Djédjé

West Bromwich Albion
Bought - Matt Phillips

Crystal Palace

Bought - Andros Townsend, Steve Mandanda, James Tomkins
Sold - Dwight Gayle,

AFC Bournemouth

Bought - Ibe, Brad Smith

Sunderland

Bought - Papy Djilobodji

And none of them make me think wow.... But it does make it harder that the teams we so called compete with have Strengthened more but we still have more of the window to do this. We are playing catch up anyway

What's happened? Bolasie and Kone? You honestly think we couldn't afford those players without selling Stones with the increase in tv money this year? We'd spent 7 million to that point. The saving in wages of Osman and Hibbert saw to that alone there or there abouts. We still haven't signed the players that we all want to see coming in, that's because they're just harder to secure.

Edit, sorry forgot about the 9 million for Williams
Honestly I don't know. Why did we wait until Stones was sold? Can you give me a reason.

yes mate because we will spend loads in January - it is far easier to do business and attract quality players in January - dunno why other teams haven't caught onto that.

BTW - you do realise the 'strengthen in January' has been the line of the club throughout the last minute sales periods of kenwrights era, guess what - come january we pretend we are ok and carry on as normal and don't strengthen - and the money goes up in smoke or down a sofa.

you think we will add 4-5 players in january and use up the rest of the roughly 500-600k allowance on wages we will have available then your an utter barnpot mate (no insult intended)
