Everton Transfer Thread 2016

So we're going into the new season with:

  1. No back up for Lukaku
  2. No back up for Coleman
  3. No first choice goalkeeper
  4. A negative net spend despite being led to believe we had over £100m to spend.
  5. Sold John Stones
What a disgrace of a transfer window. Get it sorted out, Everton.

Reckon we have an instant upgrade on Stones myself. In a defending ability way.

Fine with the keeper for now.

Still have Rom, daft cut notwithstanding.

Lets see.

I posted elsewhere that players with a high international profile will be reluctant to join a club that has zero European competition this season. They want to be seen worldwide competing in the CL or at least the EL.

Coming 11th last season is not a good starting point to entice this type of player.....regardless if whether or not we can offer significantly high wages.

There is no point in whingeing if these players simply do not want to join.

We need a season or two to recover from the mess RM made and to get into top 4 or 6.

Then we will have the high profile players seeking to join us.

Just chill for the moment.

City were just getting out of a huge slump that had seen them in the 3rd tier and they still attracted. Good grief Chinese clubs can do it and you're claiming everton can't. The people entrusted in making it happen clearly can't but Everton football club certainly can.

Ridiculous comparisons.

Bojan was a cast off akin to Del. Same with Shaqiri really - who had struggled at Bayern and failed to settle at Inter - he's not set the world alight, as good as he can be. Affelay was 29 and had an awful injury record. Available on a free and had barely played at Barca - had actually been at Olympiakos on loan.

Sissoko was at Toulouse, not exactly a huge club. The only real guaranteed first teamer at their former clubs other than him was Wijnaldum.

We've gone for players - Witsel, Carvalho and Koulibaly - who are integral parts of respective teams and can reasonably demand CL football.

Of the above you named, I don't think any of them could command CL football...

what we should be doing is tapping up teams like Madrid to try get a loan signing beyond the ability of ones we can actually convince to sign for us permanently, in theory anyways we can offer to cover wages etc and stump up a sizeable loan fee, the player then gets to show he can do it in the premiership and convince 'the big boys' to splash out on them, and in the meantime we get the benefit and maybe raise our profile enougbh to eb able to get those signings to sign for us in the future

Kovacic, Isco etc, Rabiot from PSG etc etc etc - put a bloody cheeky loan offer in covering there full wages and giving madrid a nice chunk of change and see what they say

Plus dunno how it would work and if those load wages would be factored into next seasons calculation on what we can have our ages at - meaning we don't waste potential to increase by not using them this summer

That was like 10 years ago mate, when you could ride into town and blow what the hell you liked cos very very few clubs had the same access to cash. Now, everyone has, plus the pesky rules.

thought it was a bit earlier than that, but if you think we'l have our big money CB (either kone/valencia guy), gueye, bolasie and bony

that's nearly all our summer business out just as they are properly bedding in. If those are the players we buy of course.
Could be longer depending on when they have to join their squads. It'll be at least a week before the 1st game probably sooner.

Arsene Wenger and Martin Samuel have banned us from loaning any players mate.
