Everton Transfer Thread 2016

The signings we have made this summer were largely not predicted at all by anyone.
We have been linked with dozens of players this summer and I have no doubt that we have probably made enquiries about many of them.
All clubs do this every season, it is an information gathering exercise, we are probably not overly interested in some of them, but clubs need to know which players are available if circumstances throws up a situation where you might need cover.

I do think we will still sign as many as four players before the window closes, a mixture of long term investments and players immediately ready to step in to the first team.

I think the last day may be interesting.

Anyways prediciton time

We will get in

Hart
Kone
Ghezal (sp)
Gabbidon
jarg rb joker from Saints
a mystery midfielder out the blue on deadline day that will be the big marquee signing
Purely speculative but I'm going for Hart on much more gracious term terms, Koné MKII, Martina and a quick centre forward.

For whatever reason, I have a gut feeling that the much coveted skilled midfielder we require will not materialise as we all wish in this window.

It'll be glaringly obvious that it's something we lack in our play, so we'll eventually pay over-the-top rates in January to rectify it with a star player.

Hahaha, how the names have changed on here from a month ago.

We have had our eyes wiped big time.....

More a case of reality bites - big time players do not sign for mediocre clubs. And that, currently, is what we are. Like it or not, that's reality. We simply must earn qualification for Europe AND progress on the new stadium - only that will improve our image and make us an attractive proposition for the world's top players. Until then, we'll be getting the KB like some poor bloke at a club on a Saturday night getting KBs from all the fit birds. Sad, but true. :(

From Crystal Palace website....

Crystal Palace are on of a host of Premier League clubs that are targeting Everton outcast Oumar Niasse, according to reports

Sunderland, Hull and West Brom are all said to be interested in signing the striker before the end of this summer’s transfer window.

However, they face competition from Turkish Super League side Besiktas, according to Turkish television station LigTV.

Niasse joined Everton in January for a fee in the region of £13.5m but has made just seven league appearances since then and is out-of-favour under new boss Ronald Koeman.

The Senegal international was also arrested in May on suspicion of assault. With Everton unhappy with his misconduct, they are looking to move him on as soon as possible.

Palace are looking for a striker to support new club-record signing Christian Benteke, who is believed to have cost the Eagles £32m (including add-ons).

Manager Alan Pardew has pressure mounting on him having won just two league games in 2016.
Just can't see a host of clubs after him.

Hart
Kone
Perez
Martina

.....seem the likeliest. I would admit that would have disappointed me a few weeks ago, but in addition to the business already done I would take that now. We can improve under the radar and might even be in a position in January around the Top 6 and could consider making a signing or two to push us on then if available.

Only the Manchester clubs have had a hassle-free window. We are no exception to the norm.

I'd like Hart. A lot. But it just doesn't feel real to me.

I'd like a striker too.

Koemans mentioned needing a striker a few times and think last weekend with how easy west brom nullified del will make him realise that yeah we 100% do. Who it'll be though is anyone's guess, seem to be getting linked and bidding on a few so far.

Hart I genuinely think in that deal the longer we leave it the better the chances mate, he needs to be playing and city need him out the club can see it being a late deadline day move for a much better financial deal for us. Always the chance of an injury etc for another team seeing them come in late though which is the chance we're taking by dragging it out.

Yep, we're no longer a big club, so getting top, top players in was always going to be a struggle.
