.....seem the likeliest.

Perhaps seems the likeliest right now but as we have seen over the last month, ask the same question in 2 days or even tomorrow and that list will have changed. Perhaps even this evening it will have changed :) So no point really, sit tight, will be a wild ride the next week.*

*Carlton Palmer on 2 month loan

Go back through the thread Mikey.....in fact don't......run lad.....run as fast as you can!

Where have you been? lol

Odds on SkyBet for Balotelli to be at Everton by the close of the window dropped through the floor yesterday.....

I think Mikey was actually at the match when it was all kicking off.

Delighted I missed all this

I'm a Luddite who doesn't own a Smart Phone, so when I'm out and about I can't really keep up to date with the forum, so if this all went off during the match last night I won't have seen it

Think it is perspective though. would a decent player sign for forest or leeds now as they are a big club?

The modern perception is pretty much we are just a club. We sometimes do well, sometimes don't. We are just there, hence why we have found it difficult to attract players because they don't know which version they are getting when they sign.

The perception of Everton (especially in Europe) is still as a 'big' club mate.

Not as a top club that competes for the highest honours though (which we haven't done in years).

But there's a distinct difference.

I think we are perceived as big in the UK, but not further afield, we have bigger issues there.

A player like Ghezzal won't know much if anything about us, why would he, unless he was a football nerd?

I watch all the main Euro leagues and I "know" a club like, say Hamburg (at random). But I don't know much about them if that makes sense. If I was a player good enough to have options, why would I want to leave my homeland and join them? Same applies here.

Better players want success, prestige, and money, all three combined. We can offer money but can't compete on the other levels.
