Everton Transfer Thread 2016

Well I did hear, as in I spoke to someone on the phone who gave me the information

Like I've said find anyone on twitter or any site that called it earlier than I did, even the press didn't get wind until last night

Sorry mate,

you're right, well done.

Have a biscuit.

It's a strange one. I understand getting the cover in the form of a young player who wants to make the step up and will provide competition not just this season, but over the next few years.

But Debuchy is 30, not that good, on a hefty wage and very injury prone. Unless Coleman is out for a lot longer than Martinez said yesterday, then it seems a pointless signing.

Yep does seem odd, would think Arsenal would cover most of his wages though

Agreed, isn't holgate a rb? Rather give him the slot

Well, Byram is 22. If he wants to play at the top level then he would sign for us in a very youthful side with 4 england internationals in it. If he wants to get games at an average level then he signs for west ham.

A future star with loads of confidence would choose us i would think.

As for Mirallas he was older and an established player who probably realised he was only ever going to be backup...
One flaw mate.

We are playing at the same level as west ham so how can byram be dropping a level signing for them?

To be honest mate I'd say we could fill two of those boxes with one very good signing this window - and that would obviously be the LW/CF option.

Byram would have been great to get in now and have for the future, but for the time-being I think we'll make do this window with Oviedo whose looked good there, unless Coleman has a set back (by all accounts, he should be fit for the City game, if not Swansea - though I wouldn't want him to be risked).

Naismith, Gibson and McGeady out - 1 attacking signing in - that's my prediction for this window.

Summer we then look at a new 'keeper (we just have to), a back up right back, a back up striker - that's assuming no sales of major players, which of course there will be.

Those 6 players would be "optimal".

We could get away with a LW/CF player to cover two positions in the short term, for me that would be a Martial type signing like Dembele from Fulham.

Or perhaps a Yarmolenko.

i just hope he ticks off 2 of the positions with teal quality this window and 4 more in the summer isnt mission impossible.

Just chill lad, we appreciate the info.

Just don't fall into the trap of:

A) Getting wound up and immediately saying that you'll never post again
B) Getting really defensive if people question you

We've had genuine ITKs on here and a lot of fake ones, so if you're info is sound nobody is gonna have a go - it's just a wind up.

Apart from @ijjysmith, he hates everyone.

Put it this way, if he thought he was going to push for a spot in the england team he would sign for us as he could be alongside 3 other emgland international defenders.

If he felt he couldnt get into our side past coleman then he doesnt think hes good enough for england...as you need to believe youre the best to play at that level.

Hopefully Kenny comes through pronto as we really need another RB.

@Jags..class Holgate plays the same position as stones but he and pennington could fill in at RB.

People still think we're the top 5 Everton.

We're Martinez's mid table 'entertainers' now.
haha more so for the fact West ham are a london club, will have a brand new stadium soon so will probably lead to a akeover of some sort and if they never win anything at least be in a good solid position (unless they get an icelandic in charge again lol)

This is true.

The most frustrating aspect is that we're so close to moving from mid-table to suddenly being top 4 Everton (this season) - but those fine margins (Howard, missing chances, Howard, stubbornness in tactics, bad referees, Howard) have cost us.

Hardly helps himself with his 'source' being described as "I heard"

I hear things, then they up my medication.
*resists urge to kill them all*
I'm just saying..... i'm in regular contact with somebody who used to post a lot of info on here but I wouldn't start posting stuff on here..... takes some nads to post something on here and face being being ridiculed for it unless you feel 100 % your info is correct.

Hmm, maybe some of them, but I doubt all - he's on a reported 70k p/w I believe...

If he comes I'll be happy with the signing like, but I really just think it'd be a weird move.

Byram was a very logical move for all parties - this one wouldn't be.
