Everton Transfer Thread 2016

.....bit of Internet banter saying Mick Doherty (the bloke who reportedly brough Coleman to Everton) is now head scout at Sunderland and has been watching Cleverley and McCarthy. They suggest McCarthy is Moyes main target but Newcastle are offering Sissoko as part of a deal. Cleverley looks certain to be gone. Kone's agent is doing all he can to push a deal with Everton.

Gossip.

If we shifted both Cleverley and McCarthy t Sunderland and got Kone and a few million in exchange wouldn't be a bad bit of business at all.

Would almost guarantee that we would bring in anothe rgod level centre midfielder as well which i think most reckon we need

Rather not go near Sissoko tbh

We've had a great start, it really is key now who we bring in this week, 2 or 3 quality additions and we could have a very very good season.

With the next three fixtures in the league, coming out the international break with momentum from a good start and the added bounce of some quality players joining could see us have a great start to the season

The thing with Brahimi though Zat that has been mentioned is he has a huge attitude problem, after being a fans favorite they turned on him because of his attitude, he has had run - ins with his manager, I read a piece on him that said that he expects his team mates to do all the leg work for him, then give the ball to him, goes against what Koeman expects from his players.

Yeah i mentioned in one post that i believe that he thinks hes too big for that league.

@admirschleck seems to watch alot of football though and suggests i play FIFA and dont follow various leagues so perhaps we should seek a 2nd opinion from him...

I have read, with interest, @The Esk writing about Everton's financial situation and completely trust his info on this is true and quite accurate. I also believe he genuinely trusted whoever his sources are when he was told we had a serious interest in both above-mentioned players. However, it's clear as day that we were never actually - in real life - close to signing either. Which leads me to ask the question: How come you were so confident they were signing, even going as far as to say it had all been agreed on both counts?

With the greatest of respect, given you are asking the question it is correct to assume you have no knowledge of the situation, therefore you are unable with any clarity to comment on how close or not we were.

I could give you chapter and verse, certainly on Witsel, slightly less so on Mata, as to what occurred over the summer and how close we got to signing both earlier. However in doing so I would break certain confidences so I will not be doing so.

Sufficient to say, as I've said on many occasions we were a signature away, however over his holidays and subsequently he/his people's demands changed to the point of not being acceptable. When I say changed, some of the demands were simply ludicrous. Hence the deal not happening.

Similarly with Mata there was agreement but circumstances at his own club and his agent scouting the market changed matters. Incidentally there are many in the football world who think Mata will move before the window closes, whether he does and whether it is to us is down to him and whether we actually still want him.

I don't usually feel the need to justify what I've written but occasionally I have to put the record straight as assumptions made by others have a habit of becoming fact by 'folklore'.

Utterly impossible to predict.

I imagine you were saying the same about Mark Bosnich when you spotted him playing as a 16 year old in Sydney.

The same was probably said by Arsenal fans when they bought Richard Wright from Ipswich when he was just 23 and as highly touted at least as Butland is now

For the first time I've put people on ignore now, can't read any more of their BS....first thing in the morning and last thing at night they are on here spouting the same guff on a daily basis.......nobody is good enough for one of them unless he has checked their stats on computer games....needs to open his curtains and get away from his computer or better still burn it.....the Martinez man crush and hatred for anything Everton for the other one.

Anyway, still reckon 5 in which I have said all week. Very exciting few days ahead and think we are all going to be genuinely surprised and happy with the new additions.

It is clear he doesn't fancy Cleverly, Gibson (contract only given to get a fee for him maybe) and McCarthy not first choice so hopefully 2 of those out along with Niasse and McGeady and possibly Kone.
We'd be in wonderland if we shifted all of that dead wood for actual cash, and bought in two or three new faces. Of course, the net spend fanatics would be incensed because astute player sales make the net spend figure drop....
