Everton Transfer Thread 2016

Daryl Murphy & Conor Sammon were ahead of Long in the Irish team for the last number of years. Shane Long is not someone we should be looking at, would not suit at all.
That's not really true Sammon has 9 caps and Murphy 14, I don't either have scored a goal for Ireland. Long has 59 caps. Trappatoni never played Long as he liked 2 up top big target man along with Keane.

I agree with you that we should look elsewhere. Good enough player but don't think he fits.

Jefferson Montero linked again today, he seems to be after a way out and we need a left sided player, 9 assists and 1 goal is not too shabby from his last 25 starts, we could certainly do worse. I have read that Watford are in for him as well though and have offered £10m, I guess we could pay this if we wanted to, having sold Naismith?! Maybe it is more to do with the wages and wanting to get McGeady and Gibson off the wage bill.

I think he's bang average mate, a slightly better version of mcgeady IMO. And one goal is awful for an attacking wide player kone & Naismith have more in less games.

Mirallas is twice the player, but would we get 20mil for him

Tbh, i don't think we will sign anyone else this window. Few sources saying Martinez thinks the squad had one or two players then needed, and unless we have money to add to the £8.5mil we got for Naismith (which i still don't think we do) its not like we are going to get in someone better.

Am sure we will be linked with plenty of players now we are seen to have got spare dough - but ill be massively shocked with we sign anyone of true quality that improves the first team and we don't hear "its a poor market" "we will go with what we have" "the squad is strong enough we had too many players".

Thus, giving the board another stick to be hit with..... "where's the Naismith money bill".

Would love to be wrong, don't think i will be though.

To be fair mate, he inherited 3 of them and the other one was too good an offer to pass up. Got shut of him pretty quick though.

He inherited two of them, don't try and pass McGeady off on to Moyesiah

Distin was fine too so he inherited one player with a questionable attitude, though I don't remember him having any issues under Moyes.

Oh gosh, you're right! Roberto fought tooth and nail to get that useless gimp.

The times have name dropped us against rivalling spurs for james maddison, some coventry city player.

....I posted that, he looks a talent. 19 years old, I suppose a bit in the Barkley mode without the bulk but he takes the ball on the spin and can pass with either foot. £5m being quoted but he looks like he can play and might be considered an RM type.
