I suspect he'll end up at Liverpool, but it'd be a coup of sorts if we stole a march on them and got him in for the £7/8M they offered.

Jefferson Montero linked again today, he seems to be after a way out and we need a left sided player, 9 assists and 1 goal is not too shabby from his last 25 starts, we could certainly do worse. I have read that Watford are in for him as well though and have offered £10m, I guess we could pay this if we wanted to, having sold Naismith?! Maybe it is more to do with the wages and wanting to get McGeady and Gibson off the wage bill.

Daryl Murphy & Conor Sammon were ahead of Long in the Irish team for the last number of years. Shane Long is not someone we should be looking at, would not suit at all.

not good enough for everton. far too erratic. a quicker mcgeady imo.

I don't see the sense in us going for Shane Long, not that he isn't a good player, he just doesn't fit our formation, I would rather we went for Graziano Pelle from Southampton, he seems to want out and is more of a target man, in a similar vein to Lukaku, so would be a good option for when we need to rest Lukaku.

We shouldn't just replace Naismith for the sake of it, the squad size is fine - we should only go for a player who can actually make a difference.

Squad size is fine in some areas, but a hamstring tear to Lukaku & it's season over. Another striker should be a priority.
