We're 11th in the league. There is room for improvement. It we'd have scored 1 more goal in the 11 draws we would be top of the league. Blame our attacking for the position we are in.
That's another way to look at it I guess. Not saying there isn't room for improvement, just that I can't see Yarmolenko being automatically first choice
Kone out
Yarmolenker in
If Cleverley is fully fit it will also mean Kone out. Should be between Mirallas/Cleverley anyway imo.

If we're spending the reported 25-30m on him he's got to be starting when fit

Guessing he'd rotate a bit during a game with Deulofeu myself, and whenever Del isn't on the pitch he'd take that right hand side spot, would give us a lot of options if we could have those two and become more fluid the way we play

You should think so, I completely agree. Just curious as to who would drop out. Can't imagine it being Cleverley. Don't really know who else.

Cleverley i always thought was brought in as an Osman replacement if you liek, someone who can play anywhere across the midfield to fill the needs, not ever going to be someone who nails down a starting spot in one position the way i see things

But if we want to push on then the likes of Cleverley should be what we have on the bench. We have a good squad now so now we need to start on making the first 11 better.

I think he was concerned about how Kone and Pienaar would recover, whether he could get Lennon in and how well Deulofeu would settle back into the club.

We might not agree with it but think Martinez sees them as at least temporary solutions for the positions that Naismith was covering last season. He also could be happy with the progress of some of our academy players in the past six months.

I agree this could very well be why RM may not have known about having a replacement in the squad at that time.

I honestly view Cleverley different. I like him big time. Can see why Martinez rates him that highly. Indeed the Martinez style Osman replacement. Osman also has been a mainstay of the Everton team for many years.

No one's saying there isn't room for improvement, but if Kenwright said we had £25 million to improve the squad, maybe winger isn't the place to start.

Agreed. I'd spend the lot on a keeper though. A top class one can win you 15+ points a season. Ours I feel has cost us at least 10 up to now.
Absolutely, can you imagine how good we would be if we stopped throwing away a lead, we'd be right up there. Granted, our back four need to take a bit of responsibility but a top draw keeper would really mean the difference between mid table and pushing 4/5th...
