Yes he is. For most of his career he's been a cb but recently when Germany started playing with 4 cbs before they switched back to fullbacks he did play out wide. Belgium did this too but you wouldn't call Vertonghen and Alderweireld fullbacks. They just so happened to be better than any Belgium fullbacks while Kompany and Vermaalen started as cbs.

35 this July. Supposedly the reasoning is that because him and Barry are similar players, Martinez can rotate them so Barry doesn't have to play as many games.

You're saying play him left back, he's only played Lb 8 times in his career, mainly through necessity.

Personally I'd be very happy with that, he's a boss CB. His agent is Mino Raiola though.
