Everton Transfer Thread - Summer 2020

Simply put we need to spend a good £120-150 million this window and I wouldn't give it Brands to spend either.

6 positions that need major investment in:

CF
CM
CB
RW
RB
LW

No chance

We are at around £55 million of £105 million limit after Usmanovs £30 million deal and small profit made in the summer.

Essentially if we can make profits on the likes of Keane & Kenny we can definitely afford to spend around £100-120 million.

We simply can not afford to mismanage that spending however.

Lad all I ever see is you post on here about how our finances are crap and we are doomed.

With respect you know absolutely sod all about what we can or can not spend in the summer so reign it in with the "no chance close thread" talk eh.
I am merely popping the delusional stuff.
I want us to be great just like everyone else, but the idea that we will be signing five or six first team players seems ridiculous to me.
That’s not to say we don’t need them, but I can’t see how we generate that sort of money unless we sacrifice a big player such as Richarlison.

We dont know that though. Thats my point unless you have a detailed list of the accounts taking into account the current financial year (which is estimated to have been a +£10-15 million in sales and £30 million deal from USM) you can not say for certainty what we can and can not do.

I'd add another CM. Genuinely terrifying the "depth" we have there. It's mad how Brands did NOTHING to try to improve it in the January window.

Speculating that he did nothing and him doing nothing are two very different things...

Club probably just felt not worth spending hte extra money and saving it for a proper build in summer. Not many deals get done in January these days.

Personally I dont mind just seeing the season out and spending the money with a strategy in summer.

It's not speculation tho. He did nothing. Even if he "tried" to bring in someone, he didn't. Ergo, he did nothing.

Profit on Keane? Were not selling Moise, so I dont think Michael will get much ! Offloading some deadwood is as much as we can hope for.

Trying isn't nothing, You have no idea, like me, what went on behind closed doors in January. You saying he did nothing is speculation, me saying they're probably not wanting to waste money is speculation.

Personally believe hands were tied by FFP and had Niasse and other stinkers gone out we'd have maybe brought in a loan (even then the rules have changed, not sure we could have been allowed another loan).

Why waste money on someone in January when you can wait, in a season that is going to end up as a nothing season, and spend it in summer more carefully?

How many times have we wasted money in January recently? Walcott and Tosun cost £50m, of which both were crap and purely to try and see out the season.
