We dont know that though. Thats my point unless you have a detailed list of the accounts taking into account the current financial year (which is estimated to have been a +£10-15 million in sales and £30 million deal from USM) you can not say for certainty what we can and can not do.
You’re right, I cannot say for certain, but I do know we have just declared record losses, have half a squad of dross on high salaries that are basically unshiftable, and have FFP restrictions to contend with. Usmanov can make his donations and it will certainly help, but the clubs revenue has to improve. The £30m from Usmanov will buy one player and not pay the salary.
We need sales, but unless they are for an accounting profit it will make the FFP situation worse.
But from what I have just watched, we need more than five or six.

No it wont and shows your lack of knowledge of how FFP works.

If we sign a £30 million player on a 5 year contract - thats £6 million on the books this season as the total fee is paid over the duration of the contract in terms of FFP.

Very basic this but essentially you could argue that the USM deal has enabled us to sign 5x £30 million players on 5 year deals effectively - thats not taken into account FFP profits if we sold academy players like Kenny and Davies or players like Siggurdsson & Keane if we can offload a few.

Basic way of looking at it but you're simply thinking FFP works by straight ins and outs and it doesn't.

And the record losses?

And the record losses?

Record losses were posted for last financial year meaning we currently stand at £94.4 million with the limit being £105 million.

This summer we made roughly a small overall profit of around £10-15 million in player sales FFP speaking - add in our USM deal for FF rose by £6 million and a further £30 million naming rights deal - I also believe the TV deal increased this season (or next).

So basically when the accounts are published next year for this year I imagine that £94.4 million loss over 3 years will be more around £50 million meaning we have the ability to make one big push this summer to sign players - it if we cock up this summer in recruitment that we will struggle the following seasons unless we get further deals which I fully expect we will (shirt sponsership, potential naming rights of GP until we move etc.)

This is where the stadium comes in with increased revenue streams.
I imagine that will be the point Usmanov joinz the club as he will no doubt play a big part in funding it.

Sell as many as possible. Liquidate anything we can’t sell in a giant blender.

Priority has to be midfielders. We need pace, power, creativity, steel, intelligence.

After that a central defender and a right back are required. The centre back has to be quick and intelligent. The right back just has to be able to play football.

I think its quite clear we need somewhat of a quick fix - none of this signing 19 year olds that might be good in 3 years time.

I would hope we bring in 1-2 top players who may be reaching their twilight years but have the leadership/big game experience to give us a short term push for Europe in which we can sign younger upgrades once in Europe/Champions League.

Players like Allan, Mertens - some players with fight and quality who can help the younger players out in the side.

Carlo can't do anything without a midfield. Gomes can't only do so much with other liabilities beside him. Davies - average. Sigurdsson - terrible. Schneiderlin - good at passing backwards.

Legitimately need two more first choice-tier midfielders and a winger.

CM Allan - £20-25 million
RW Mertens £8-10 million
RB: ???
CB Gabriel £25-30 million
LW: Everton Soares: £25-30 million
CF: ???

Get that sort of business done with the likes of Keane, Siggurdsson, Schneiderlin, Davies, Kenny & Iwobi out the door hopefully for fees and I'll be more confident about next season.

Gomes is the same level as the rest of them. We need two top quality CM's this summer.
