Doucoure just seems like a disaster Steve Walsh signing.

Sign absolute proven quality like Allan, plus someone like McKennie (21 years old) as well. Not a 28 year old who we will not be able to sell if he bombs.

he won’t bomb he’s had a couple of seasons in this league. They know what they’re getting. More risk buying from another league

He has never impressed me at all though. I don't know what he does, what sort of midfielder he is other than a headless chicken. Doesn't score, can't tackle, can't pass. He is just a more mobile Tom Davies.

I would be very happy with Tomori as well but I am not sure he would play much more at Everton than he would at Chelsea, unless injuries strike.
I don't think he would be guaranteed a start ahead of Holgate, Mina or Keane.

I think it may be a decision the manager will leave for a while to see how well Gibson,in particularl does.

16 goals and 11 assists over the last 3 seasons for Watford, most often playing in the middle in a 442 variation, and taking no set pieces is a decent return.

Is there anything in this Tomori stuff?

I'd defo take him on loan. Very talented despite maybe dtruggling at times in a young Chelsea side last season.

Would buy us a year to either scout the next Gabriel type player coming up or if Tomori comes good then always an option to buy.

No chance of Chelsea putting an option to buy in.

Not a lot of new names listed today, same old stuff mostly;

Allan
Maksimovic
McKennie
Rafinha
Doucoure
Arias
Tormori (loan)

But one player's name I had not seen before today is Iago Herrerin, Athletic Bilbao Goalkeeper, 32, possibly in as a reserve Keeper. He made 9 appearances for Bilbao last season in all comps, conceded 10 goals 3 clean sheets and 1 red card. He has 1 year left on his current deal.

Amazed players aren't significantly cheaper this window - the world is headed for recession / depression - fans aren't even allowed through the gate.

Yes, only Holgate and Digne can play anything other than a deeper sitting defence.

I highlighted Branthwaite as someone who may also be able to cope with a high line (note 'may') but weve not seen enough of him yet. Also possibly Nkounkou so perhaps both the left backs.

As i initially highlighted, ideally we would need a new rapid RB then we may be able to have Mina there alongside Holgate as we would have 3 players with pace. Though as i wrote, Tomori would be a decent shout because hes rapid and could easily play a high line.

Furnishing Keane with a new contract seems to be a sign that we will be going very defensive and deep though.

So looks like Allan / Doucoure then add in the yards in midfield allowing us to be hard to break down.

Concern would be how we actually get up the pitch lol

Agree on Tomori. Main issue is he isn't left-footed and we could really do with a player who is for that balance.

I think the plan seems to be for a three-man midfield in some way shape or form. That obviously depends if we get both Allan and Doucoure in or not.

I guess if we do, it'd be Allan-Gomes-Doucoure. And given Gomes would have legs around him, it would be his job to get us up the pitch.

That obviously means Richarlison playing in a wide forward role and we really need another player then for the right-hand side.

I still think Iwobi central is an alternative. If it's a midfield three the protection should be there to allow him to get forward and carry the ball.
