very excited about this window. there doesn't appear to be any reason why we can't sign our top 3 targets. just wish it wasn't taking so long!

So you'd keep Davies because he's not as bad as others make out and will improve because he's young (despite getting progressively worse in the last 2 years)... You don't think Gomes is as slow as others have said and Gylfi has looked uninterested when played out of position, but the manager rarely plays a formation that includes his favoured position...

Not a glowing midfield report is it?

Even if we got James, Allen and Doucoure - the likelihood is that any one of them will be injured or unavailable each week... we need some midfielders who are content playing every odd or third/fourth game. But who can still keep us ticking over. The good news is that Carlo will get platyers who know his style and then its a matter of getting the others to "see, do that" when they come in.
Pulling off all 3 would be miraculous but we'd still need Gomes, Davies, Gylfi.

Round peg / round hole. That is what is important, and something that has been lacking since Moyes transfer dealings imo.

There are numerous players who could change the entire ethos of the team if they are the right fit. I just hope the club have identified the right targets after getting it very wrong last Summer.

Not bothered in the slightest at missing out of Holjberg. He may have been the ideal fit for the role Carlo wanted, but he clearly had no desire to come here and we have enough disinterested passengers already. We need players who will bust a gut for the club, combine that with highly skilled, and we can finally see Everton get back to where they should be. It has been far, far too long.

We missed out on top target Collymore 25 years ago, and ended up signing Kanchelskis, who was 10x the player.
