Everton Transfer Thread - Summer 2020

Be a good move for him,
Utd are only a big club in name, stuck with a load of diva players and need a massive overhaul under an inexperienced manager,
We have a too manager, some too young players, can only get better and can offer him a guaranteed starting place as long as he's fit,
Also currently at a level where if we don't improve he'll be able to get a big move still
With united also after sancho to i was surprised by villa fans reactions saying why would he want to come here. Think you have it right could fit in a few positions here and is his chance to step up again

I think that even if Gbamin can end up adapting to the League (Which hopefully he will) we're still light there, where as I think JJK, Coleman and Holgate can cover us at RB adequately so I don't really see the need to prioritise that position over the middle of the park, where I believe we have a greater need. Even if Gomes and Gbamin gel, both of them have had bad luck with injuries in the past and we'd be one injury/suspension away from Schneiderlin/Delph/Sigurdsson/Davies being back in there
Agree, we need two midfielders.

We need midfielders. In fact every area needs strengthening ahead of the strikers.

Not saying we shouldn't be looking to improve the forwards, but it is not as desperate as elsewhere.
It's also going to be pretty hard to improve the forwards as Richarlison and DCL are actually good players. That isn't the case almost everywhere else in the team.

People wanna spend 50m on the Italian Callum Wilson bruv, totally ignoring that unless you have somebody to feed the Strikers it wouldnt matter if we had prime R9 in the side.
I'd say Italian Darren Bent myself. One hot season and he will spend his entire career with a reputation no matter how many times he scores 11 goals in 35 or whatever.

You've miscounted that to begin with, but picking 60 minutes as the bench mark selectively excludes a game they lost 4-0 where he started and was yanked off early.

The fact that he isn't an automatic started for a team that lost games 4-0 and 7-0 isn't exactly a positive to me.

6/7* sorry but the point still stands.

Started that 4-0 game but was swapped for a more offensive player at 2-0 and change of formation opting to keep the 2 more experienced CBs on. Ended the game with the second highest rating of the defenders.

Team results also don’t dictate how well an individual plays either. We’ve lost games that we the sole result of 1 or 2 players but that doesn’t mean the whole team was bad.

This is just a weird one mate. He isn't used to playing in a back four either?

Have you seen him actually play? I don't really believe that people are just watching Torino tbh.

He has played in a back 4 for Brazil, Sao Paolo, and Bologna.

And read back I said I’ve seen him play and who said that I set out to watch Torino? You do know ESPN (the biggest sports networking program in USA) is the one that owns TV rights to Serie A also right? It’s as easy for us to watch Serie A here as it is for you to watch the Prem there

I'm American. I have ESPN+. The only time I ever watched Torino was when I saw Atalanta were 3-0 and might score 10.

Brazil youth teams, Sao Paolo and Bologna? You know that isn't impressive right? I just don't see it I'm sorry.

Well if you knew Serie A they wouldn’t miss the chance to televise a derby especially one as old as Juve vs Torino.

Who did Holgate play for prior to this and at CB more specifically?

You can argue it once you watch yourself instead of spouting WhoScored stats, making assumptions based off arbitrary scoring systems, and taking team results as individual performances

Given I have no actual idea how to scout defenders I'm sure that wouldn't be helpful.

Holgate isn't proof of anything yet. He had a decent run but he is far from a top level defender.

Again I'm just not sold on a bit part player for a team worse than ours who is getting to the age where he should be solidifying his level and hasn't done that yet. You're saying you prefer him to Gabriel and I just have a tough time seeing that.
