Surprised how much he's struggled at Inter.

Napoli won't miss Everton's Allan - Football Italia
It would have been strange to suggest that Napoli wouldn’t miss Allan if the Brazilian left the Partenopei at the same time as Jorginho in 2018, butwww.football-italia.net
To be fair, this fella in this article this morning is saying exactly the same thing as Marcotti which is a concern for me. There was also a respected journalist tweeting the other day that Napoli’s midfield got completely overrun with Ancelotti‘s 442 with Allan at the heart of that midfield as Napoli never had a defensive midfielder alongside him. All seem to be saying the same thing.
If Ancelotti goes with his preferred 442 formation here, who is the defensive midfielder we have that will sit alongside Allan? We simply don’t have one! Neither Gomes or Doucoure are that player. In fact, Doucoure seems to play the exact box to box role at Allan. Mentions of knee injuries and fitness issues creeping in and a general decline in his performances alongside the “past his prime” stuff has taken the shine off this signing for me.
Maybe some people’s age concerns on here of our recruitment this time were justified.

And we have signed James Rodriguz for not much moreI think It's a sign of how far we've come with prof ancellotti, that it seems there's a bidding war for Callum Wilson up around £20mil going on between villa and the skunks, and our name hasn't been mentioned - friggin love it!
God id love him here, what a player, but I'm not sure where he'd fit in, unless we stick richy up front in a 4-3-3.
Or the horse-punchersNewcastle aka the barcodes.
No more or less of a gamble than signing any other player really. Any player can flop, get injured, look bang average - some will be worth every penny. Life's a gamble.Signing him is a gamble mate, we'll soon know if it was a gamble worth taking.
To be honest, I've been too Idle to actually read the article myself, but from descriptions, it seems to be like one written by a politician. It appears to be saying that Allan might be past it and probably ineffective in a Carlo team, but it might be injury that made him look bad, and Carlo might make him highly influential again. By embedding two opposing points of view in the article, the author is always going to be able to say, "See! Told ya.", regardless of how things turn out. Not really telling us much. (Especially not me in my lazy non-reading mode). The author says that Allan had a good season then injury curtailed him the season after and despite this his numbers were still decent. The author goes on to say that he thinks Allan is past his peak and despite this Carlo is known for getting the best out of players. The article is a lot less negative than I thought it was going to be. I still think we’ve got a quality player for a good fee. He also appears to be an upgrade on what we have.
