Sure. He had no CL clubs chasing him other than maybe a borderline one in Italy.

And it was no options when we did it. If we waited until the end of the year it very well could have been different. Which is what I mean when I say the circumstances were perfect.

I think his original plan probably would have been to have a few months off, but we pay good money and spend decent money on players, plus, its not like theres any real pressure, finish 6th and hes a King.

And in addition to all that I think he's smart enough to know he probably wasn't coming back to a top job offer.

Arsenal didn't want him. I know there were media links, but they didn't want him.

Honestly go through the clubs that are better than us currently and try to figure out which would have gone for him.

I'd say in England maybe United if they got fed up with Ole but that looks like it wouldn't have been this summer. Germany everyone is set. Spain maybe Barca but I have to think they'd not be interested. He's not their style and he's got the Madrid connection. PSG is good and he was there already. Italy it's basically does Milan want to try and rekindle the magic and we're in the same spot they were.

I genuinely struggle to see where Carlo would go that is a better option than here. With some of these names linked to us, Bale, Coutinho, James and the like, that also has to be true and it probably won't be.
Covid 19 has put an end to the season, had it continued who knows how many managers would lose their jobs.

He one of the top managers in the world, if you really believe his only option was a team struggling in and around the relegation zone, who haven’t won anything for 25yrs then you’ delusional mate.

Plenty of clubs, as big as Everton and bigger would have been looking for managers this summer and he would have been on virtually every list. I didn’t say Arsenal wanted him. I said the media said he would go to Arsenal before us.

He’s come here because he has been promised something, probably a lot of money and he knows, he may have time to build. Arsenal couldn’t afford him imo.

He had no other top job to take to be fair, hes done em all.

But could have seen him at United in June or something, which of course would open up a massive debate whether United is even a top job anymore!

And I can guarantee you that the elite clubs that are better than us were all uninterested. I mean Napoli is already a step down for him from before. His stock was low. It doesn't make him a bad manager, it just makes it possible for us to get him.
You absolutely can't guarantee anything of a sort unfortunately. A lot of credible coaches have managed Napoli and they do really well in a competitive league and not bad on the big stage either. Sadly much better than us let's put it that way.

Your talking out your undies, this is Ancelotti he has nothing to prove he's managed the best and won pretty much everything. He could of easily retired into the sunset or got a massive cheque from China or Beckhams MLS, if anything accepting a challenge like us has risen his stock, even more so when he succeeds.

Retiring to MLS as an option is exactly what I'm saying when I say his choices were limited though.

Right but that's basically the only credible opening that I can see meaning he's got all the competition and they might just keep Ole. A big risk.

I feel pretty confident that he would be Arsenal's manager if they wanted him to be. They went another direction opting for someone they felt would stay around and rebuild the team top to bottom.

Of course they were limited at that precise time, it was the week before Christmas. Like I mentioned in my first message, he could of waited for big jobs to come in, which in time they would have. Including Utd, who also around that time were struggling.

But he took the job with us, to the shock of most of the British media, that tells you how high he’s rated.

I dunno about that, lots of other top jobs might have been available Barca job, City job, Spurs job, just off the top of my head.

But I do agree, we sacked Silva at the perfect time, for our pursuit of Carlo.

I disagree, Arsenal May have tried, but they don’t have the money. Arteta won’t last long

Spurs? City? Don't think so. Barcelona have some weird philosophy thing when they hire and Carlo isn't a good fit if we are honest.

I get it though guys, none of you want to admit that we might have gotten a bit lucky with something. But we did. We got lucky with how everything broke and got a great manager because of it!

Erm, you got it twisted, im very aware that we are lucky to have Carlo and very aware that we probably dont deserve him.
