England international with caps? He won't be a big problem to get a reasonable fee.

We won’t sell him for less than 15 million but the clubs that are likely to be interested in him won’t have that type of money to splash around. There’s no way that he will end up at a club above us, Spurs aren’t going to be signing Everton’s rejects.

How sure are we about the finances stuff? Like how everyone is apparently not going to spend now? Who is saying this that actually knows what's what? I mostly see the Esk and some guys from crappy outlets.

Define “above us.” Because I could definitely see him at Burnley, Sheffield, or Palace, and they’re all above us at the moment.

We need to sort the defence out, we'll get goals and chances but we can't keep outscored sides because we can't do the basics at the back.

Gabriel and Silva in would be outstanding business and if we could add a right back it give us a solid base for us to attack.

Hojbjerg would more then fill the Schneiderlin shaped hole. Height, strength and can play a fair bit of we are looking at £15/20m a good signing.

Right winger is the next position and Denis Bouanga looks very interesting but I still hold hope for Everton to sign.

In fairness i could fill the Schneiderlin shaped hole and not just because I’m a fat ass

The pecking order.

Stoke didn’t move above us in the pecking order just because they finished above us twice a few seasons ago.

Everton are about 7th in the English pecking order right now. We have been at this level for years, even under Kenwright, and even more so under Moshiri.

There was a short period in the late 90’s and early 2000’s where clubs like Leeds and Newcastle were above us for a while before they dropped off and got relegated.

Leicester have made unbelievable strides in recent years and can therefore genuinely rival us for 7th place at the moment, but they were no marks until recently. Villa used to be where Leicester are now before they dropped off and got relegated.

Spurs aren’t all that, and they have only overtaken us in the pecking order in the last 10 years or so. Prior to that, they were operating at the same level as us and Villa.

Burnley, Palace or Sheffield United aren’t remotely close to Everton in the pecking order, they never have been and finishing a few places above us won’t make a blind bit of difference.

I’m also sceptical that any of them will have a spare 15 million pounds available to invest in Michael Keane. However, I do agree that they are Keane’s level, so lets hope they do.

I like this summary of things a lot. I'd add Wolves if they get Europe again into the group around us and Leicester.

Also if Mourinho is bad at Spurs they could be in range for all three of those teams in the 7th area.

Yeah, Wolves have money and ambition these days. They have also operated much better than us in the transfer market recently, as have Leicester. But I’d still say we are above Leicester and definitely above Wolves imo.

Think we’ll definitely be looking into the likes of Fraser and that young lad from Lille. Cheap depth and sort of gambles with the cost spread out over years and just paying the value of their contract, so even on high wages they’re still cheap just like Bernard. It’s the same with Silva. Fraser can play on the right too, I’d absolutely have him for free.

Do people not realise how shocking our depth is? Can’t have people turning their noses up at the like of Fraser and Hojbjerg just because they’re from “worse” teams than us. We’re not gonna be buying world beaters for £40m+ plus, especially not this summer.

Need to be smart and get these sort of bargains in, it’s not because we’re broke it just wouldn’t be smart spending that kind of money in a time like now, every club will be the same.

Honestly blue tinted specs off Leicester is probably ahead of us atm given their relatively recent title and CL (if they get it again this year). A decent year under Carlo and new stadium starting up will move us right back up there though
