Nah, not turning on him, just things he improve on - he's supposedly a details man, is he not? The detail of "pump the ball in the box to the midget" apparently missed him; we still created for the midget and he is still also an atrocious footballer, so no idea how Simms or even a CB uptop isn't the better option if that's what we're doing.

Sorry I criticised him, I won't do it again. He was perfect and I liked how we used our subs nearing the 80th minute, that was boss, really changed the game.
The problem is that Simms thinks he has the body of Messi, and wants to play like Messi. What you mention, we tried the whole game, and had big players around Maupay the whole time.

This one stings because we actually played about as well as we can and still came up short. It's food for thought when your literal best isn't even good enough. Amidst the high of last week, you sit and reflect and think that aside from a 1 in 100 goal like Coleman's, or a set piece header from Tarkowski, we've got no chance of scoring a goal.

We need DCL properly fit for 10 of the remaining games to have a chance.

So you expect champagne with lemons? We created chances with the midget!!!

Criticise away but at least be realistic. What was the alternative an inexperienced Simms. Did you see the derby? Or a four man midfield? That’s an awful option.

So what has he done wrong? Saying, poor decisions, without saying an alternative, looks silly!!!
Did you see how we created absolutely nothing for him in the derby? Just lump it forward with no one within 20 feet so he can do some magic and hold it up somehow and do something, great stuff.

Experience is overrated - Maupay has years worth of experience and is somehow even more atrocious than Simms. He's proven it in about 20 games.

Maupay's not a striker obviously and the 2 chances he had he missed so badly he should've been taken off on the spot.

Simms came on and had a shot and played several good balls forward.

I dont think either of them are any good

We could drop maupay and thats fair because he was rubbish, but I dont see Simms doing any better. They arent PL level strikers
They're not, but one is sort of fit/okay for the way we play (I'm saying that cuz I've actually watched him play last year) and the other is Maupay.

Both are not the answer, but one is just not a good fit.

Yes, again, we have no players to do it - we're currently doing what we can to grind out results because there is no tanking in the Prem and we have to survive, even if it's not pretty.

We will continue to play with a lot of crosses in the box however.
Ok.

I don't believe in that though. Grinding out results ends with you down eventually. The only way out is to one day decide to play in a sustainable manner and we're in the cycle of always prioritizing the results where that choice is never made.

Are you trolling or are you serious?

Yes mate and it never ends. We were currently doing that under Sam and Carlo and Rafael and Frank. Currently has lasted 6 seasons.

One day you have to say enough and make the change. There isn't going to be an ideal moment and there are going to be bumps.

You would've been the most insufferable person on here (yes, even more than now) during the Moyes days lol

Equally the bumps have been happening for 6 seasons now :)

Didn't even really seem to be a proper VAR check for it either?

They did but I personally think it'll come out that they didn't feel they needed to overturn the referees decision as a 'clear or obvious error'

So if the ref didn't give it...VAR wouldn't have called it back and not give a penalty
