As much as I'd like us to play an expansive game, the defensive, compact approach might be our only hope of getting results. Playing ugly isn't great but if we nick a draw against the big sides and narrow wins by the odd goal elsewhere, I'm not going to complain. Only change: Davies for Onana. Was thinking Doucs but unless we tell him to sit and help Gana protect the back four he looks lost. Brighton will be tough but are susceptible from setplays. If we can nick a goal and sit on it, we can get something here. Can creep up to 13th if results go our way but I'm trying not to think about that right now. UTFT

I suspect this will be the lineup. Goodison or not, think Lampard will be weary of changing too much (i.e. moving away from a back five) after a positive result against a top team last time out.

Are we expecting Calvert-Lewin to start?
You would expect so given the plan was 60 minutes against City which I assume was to sharpen him up for today. But who knows how many injuries have been picked up in the two days since that game. Plus it is a concern that there is a virus running through the squad as well

Pickford

Patterson
Godfrey
Tarkowski
Mykolenko

Davies
Gana
Iwobi

Gordon (Iwobi here Doucoure CM if out)
DC-L
Gray

Got a feeling we'll stick with 3-5-2 though

I think he'll set up as though it's Man City away, and eventually have to abandon the system because it's Brighton at home.

That team is so, so bad.

He made a post on his insta story today, very similar to the one he made before the lineup was released against City.

As much as I hate analysing social media in that way, I'm pretty sure he will start tonight.

Wouldn't pay much attention to do, his agency do it. He put one out before Wolves too.
