Same side from City minus Onana and Mina. I don't see how Gordon walks back in if he's available.

To be fair to him, against Wolves he had good movement and work rate, just his end product. There's a school of thought that says if he keeps doing those things right eventually goals and assists will come.

Would understand if he's left out though.

Lampard, Benitez, Carlo and on and on. All recent managers eventually revert to 5 at the back and clinging on for grim death to a flukey deflected goal / thunderbolt from someone. I vaguely remember last season trying to play like that against someone like Burnley / Southampton. Painful. Oh well, seems to work to some extent. Up the scaredy-cat Toffees

If Tom Davies plays in this must-win game then we're going to be very much up against it I'm afraid. You can't be playing League Two quality players at the heart of midfield in this division.

He’s not that bad mate and has looked a decent squad option the few times he’s played under Lampard.

He won’t win us games but he’ll win the ball back, press hard and play a couple of decent passes.

Obviously I want better but league two is a bit silly. He’s at least championship standard.

I expect Caicedo and MacAllister to come into that lineup, but jeezo we're on our knees if we cant go at that side.
Go to the January transfer window and they'd be hell if we were linked to any of them bar Trossard and maybe a full back.

Yes we are on our knees. We are absolutely garbage in case you have forgotten. We got absolutely walloped by Bournemouth twice and lost at home to Wolves.

common sense tells me everton might walk themselves into trouble. I have no doubt if we play with the intensity and aggression like v man city we can get 3 points but for some unknown reason everton don't do that.
maybe it's we just aren't good enough in possession and play better being aggressive off the ball. I'd like a couple of hard tackles early. set the tone and play high up the pitch. if we sit back I forsee usual problems.

As much as I'd like us to play an expansive game, the defensive, compact approach might be our only hope of getting results. Playing ugly isn't great but if we nick a draw against the big sides and narrow wins by the odd goal elsewhere, I'm not going to complain. Only change: Davies for Onana. Was thinking Doucs but unless we tell him to sit and help Gana protect the back four he looks lost. Brighton will be tough but are susceptible from setplays. If we can nick a goal and sit on it, we can get something here. Can creep up to 13th if results go our way but I'm trying not to think about that right now. UTFT

No reason that team can't be more expansive by pushing the fullbacks further up the pitch. Agree we need to keep it tight for the foreseeable though.
