Very strong today all over the pitch. Roberto had it on-point with his starting line up and with his substitutions.

Difficult to pick out individuals when the team plays so cohesively as a unit, but I thought Kone had by far his best game in the RBJ (how many defensive headers did he win!), Jagielka was rock solid and Galloway was really excellent up against Pedro. As good as Naisy's perfect hat trick was, I'd have to give Stones the MOTM award. Under such scrutiny and up against the likes of Hazard and Costa he was imperious. Cooler than a cucumber in tight spaces, solid in the tackle and simply majestic bringing the ball out from the back.....there was one drop of the shoulder that totally wrong footed half of the Paddock never mind just 3 Chelsea players.

Hopefullmy, the doubters can get behind Martinez and his plan and give us top notch backing every game.

I knew it would be a good performance after my poor start to the day.....left my ticket and money in the car at Stanley Park and had to go all the way back from the fan zone to get them..then sped back only to tread in the biggest pile of dogshit just outside the ground...knew it'd bring me luck!

I haven't enjoyed a match as much as today's for a long time. It was my eldest daughter's first match this season, for whatever reason three years ago she decided that Naismith was her favourite player and she has taught me a lesson, that your favourite player doesn't necessarily have to do with their footballing ability but with their desire and fight.
And so today was meant to be. Trooper was on in the Halton Castle and then we drove up to L4. After parking the first person we met was a programme seller and my eldest had to get it because "Dad, Naismith's on the cover." Seeing that she has 14 Naismith on her shirt, he told us that he was on the bench. She just shrugged her shoulders, and was made up when he came on for Besic. I can't remember roaring in the goals in like we did today for a long time, and the noise in the Upper Gwladys was fantastic.
So a very memorable match to say the least, and I have to thank publicly an Irish lad who donated his hat to my daughter, so made up was he with her shirt. It was just 3 points but it felt like much more. Up the Toffees.

amazing, these are the stories we live for.

Was looking at some highlights of the game, super Kev looking super happy after Naisy's second!

I shed my first tears in Goodison Park today. My dads favourite score line was always 3:1. Today both myself and my grandad shared a special moment today after the third goal went in with a stadium of proud evertonians singing at their finest. We're still carrying his spirit & always will.
In the act of thinking of a loved one who has passed away, they are there with you.

Some great stories from the game today. The noise from the stands. Really hope we build on this. Bobby's first season and better please! P.S the table doesn't look too bad either.
