Mixed emotions after that, did enough to win hit the woodwork 3 times, effort was outstanding. Cleverly looked like he really belonged in a Everton shirt. Lukaku continued his great goalscoring form. But all ruined by a simple set piece goal conceded, we just can't continuously do this. Martinez made the ridiculous statement before about corners and it bloody well shows. Frustration.

It's positional, too. Defending set pieces is the only time we exude panic.
I don't know about panic, but it appears as though we don't practice defending them. Barry completely lost Dann's movement. To be fair, he almost gave a penalty away with egregious shirt grabbing earlier in the game. But ho hum...Palace didn't beat us and against a mentally weaker Everton, they would have.

Mori was absolutely dog dirt tonight, by the way. Horrible performance by him.

We'll get nowhere scraping one point from games like that.
"Scraping"? Are you on the wind-up? Thought F-M did OK and our forward play was more than enough to deserve the win. We just got sucker-punched, but only one team was going for it in the end. Don't think CP can have any complaints and fair play to them for the quality of their performance.

The dropped points at bouremouth make this look worse than it was, decent enough display, would have given kev a run myself, but was interesting to more of a footballer in cleverly at cm, a shame for gibson tjough, he and besic should leave really, bertos 3 fave players play in their position, just one of them innit.

All in all our form looks good, a decent crimbo and we can put ourselvesup there, oh and howard is utter tosh

Basically, for me, we're better than ever with going forward, Palace were better than we thought, and we're not really set up to defend or take corners.

Golden opportunity wasted to close in on 4th but while I'm frustrated, there were some good signs, like peppering their goal at points.

We were a bit unlucky, but we should really put these to bed regardless.

Coleman was excellent, best I've seen from him in a while.
Del makes a huge difference to our team - the amount of chances he creates is brilliant. I wish he'd have a pop at goal himself a bit more though.
Lukaku looks dangerous every game now and you'd usually back him to score. I don't think tonight was one of his better ones - poor first touch broke a few moves down.
Kone makes our attacking system work, but I didn't see the problem of swapping him for Mirallas for the last 10 minutes tonight.
Barkley was excellent - he looked accomplished all game, I don't remember him putting a foot wrong, really good.

I don't have that horrible 'dropped two points' feeling even tho we did. I think the team played very well. I don't blame Martinez for not changing it up. What we had out there was working. Give Baines a bit more time to bed in and we'll start progressing. Palace are a good side and they were just given a really good game.
When's Jags due back?
Very much this, with a just a fair share of luck we'd have won comfortably. I'm disappointed not to win, but proud of the team.
