Clearly still working on how best to play Lukaku in the side (seems odd after 3 years of him being here) but he's getting no service running onto the ball from outside of the box and from cross balls he always seems to go behind a defender allowing the defender to get goal side. For a man with a great goal scoring record he makes it look very easy to defend against him.

We really need to play the ball quicker from midfield for him to run onto to get the best out of him. You would think with Geri and Mirallas that should be achievable but nothing so far.
So would you take Bony for his far superior hold up play allowing Rom and others to run off him?

can't get a stream for this...how we're playing if marking out of 10?

5 probably

Gueye has looked decent, bar the penalty which was just a slack challenge. He's got a bit of pace, always on top of the play and has a decent pass on him.

Barkley sloppy at times, similarly Del. Kev is working well with Baines when they get forward.

Coleman out of position for the penalty and a few times as well Stones has had to cover for him. Rom anonymous bar a really good effort, Barry solid as always. Ramiro frustrates me with his diving in. Stek made a few decent saves.

Their keeper looks a great shot stopper

Lukaku is actually very easy to defend against 90% of the time. Remember when we played ManU and Blind had him marshalled the entire match with little to no effort? He is at his most dangerous when he starts to run with the ball at his feet straight at defenders (See that Chelsea goal) but this doesn't seem to fit our system that much. He isn't a target man but for some reason we seem to play like he is.

I have stated it on numerous EFC forums but I expect us to struggle next season. It's a tough league to win games in and we are an exposed side now, teams know our players capabilities and there isn't anything different or spectacular about our line up for the coming season.
