Wouldn't surprise me if Dom started, even given Dyche's recent comments. Unless his 'games programme' now moves to appearances from the bench until he's passed to start actual Prem games..

If the latter is the case and Tarks & Danjuma are passed fit this week, I'd go with this to start:

Pickford

Patterson - Tarkowski - Godfrey - Young

Gana
---- Onana
Garner
------------------------ Iwobi

Doucoure
-----------

Danjuma

*If* no Tarks & Danjuma then we suddenly look a look weaker unfortunately 😵‍💫 probably end up with Keane in next to Godfrey in that case and we may have no other choice than to start Maupay. Just on Godfrey btw - I'm really hoping that Branthwaite gets the nod.. but based on Dyche's comments yesterday it sounds like he's a little bit behind Godfrey fitness-wise, hence why I reckon Godfrey will end up starting for this..

On the bench we should have the likes of DCL, Branthwaite, Mykolenko, Gomes, Dobbin and *gulp* Maupay. Might even have Chermiti in - although I reckon Dyche will want him training for at least a full week before he includes him in a matchday squad.

I reckon we can beat Fulham with that side personally - we just need to be tight with our tactics & game management. I was encouraged by the sharpness of many of the players in that Sporting game.

Why would Branthwaite be less fit than Godfrey

He may not have played many games at Euro tournament but he would have had to train for every game and they played 7 I think
Wasn't part of the reason why Branthwaite didn't play much at the Euros was because he had been recovering from a knock when PSV's season ended?

Certainly when Dyche mentioned Branthwaite after the Sporting game he referenced the fact that he's still 'getting over an injury'.

given Dyche’s comments if likely Maupay starts unless it’s a bluff

if Tarkowski is fit I think the only change is Branthwaite in for Godfrey hopefully. Unless he deems Branthwaite not 100% yet

It wouldn't surprise me if the club has no idea how to handle DCL. How is he not fully fit after being off for 10 weeks? What was the club doing in regard to getting him healthy and fit for the start of the season?

If Godfrey starts at CB, we lose

As much as we hate Keane, Godfrey is miles worse than Keane as a CB, IMHO. At least Keane occasionally has a good game clearing crosses
